Cabinet approves Mission Karmayogi to re-skill civil servants for New India: The Union Cabinet on Wednesday approved Mission Karmayogi, a skill development scheme for civil servants. The government aims to build a future-ready civil service in the country through its Mission Karmayogi scheme. The government will set up a Special Purpose Vehicle (SPV), fully owned by it, for the operation of an online platform and facilitate digital learning. The total outlay for the scheme will be Rs 510 crore for the first five years.

Andhra Pradesh government reviews on skill development colleges: The government of Andhra Pradesh has directed the authorities to expedite the process of identifying sites for construction of skill development colleges. The Government of Andhra Pradesh is gearing up for the construction of 30 colleges in the entire state to have one Skill Development College for each Parliamentary constituency.

Two Tata Tech CIITs to come up in Jammu and Kashmir by November 2020: The government of Jammu and Kashmir is going to establish two CIITs in Jammu and Kashmir in collaboration with Tata Technologies. The two centres are being built at Government Polytechnic College, Jammu and Government Polytechnic College, Baramulla and shall be established at a cost of approximately Rs 360 crores.

Registration for vocational courses rose by over 15%: Registration to vocational courses in ITIs in Maharashtra has increased by over 15% this year as compared to 2019. From 280,000 pre-admission registrations that were recorded last year, DVET received around 326,000 registrations this time round; the process ending earlier this week.
