NCL India to spend Rs. 6.5 crore to build an ITI: NCL India Ltd is going to set up an ITI at Neyveli Township at an estimated cost of Rs. 6.5 crore for the benefit of the families affected by its projects and youngsters residing in surrounding villages. It aims to impart practical skills which will enable them to obtain relevant jobs in industries.
Nasscom FutureSkills partners with Adobe to provide user experience design skills training: Nasscom FutureSkills has partnered with Adobe India to launch the UX foundation programme to skill students and professionals with an aim to meet the industry demand for one of the fastest-growing creative disciplines- USer Experience Design. The programme is available on Nasscom’s FutureSkills platform for free to all its three lakh subscribers.
Assam to set up skill development university: The government of Assam has decided to set up a Skill Development University at Mangaldoi with an investment of Rs. 900 crore. The aim is to identify one product per district based on the potentiality and strength of a district, develop a cluster for that product in the district and provide smooth market linkages.
Skill development should be the top priority in the current job scenario: Skill development is going to be a top priority in the current employment scenario and has taken lead over academic qualifications. Skill development is no longer a matter of choice. It is inevitable to adapt, survive and succeed.
Educational department to set up vocational university by September 2021: The department of education is going to set up a vocational university in New Delhi by September 2021. The university is going to be named as Delhi Skills and Entrepreneurship University. The department aims to make the university self-sustainable along with the authority to bestow degrees equivalent to a B.Ed, B.A, Diploma and PhD with primary focus on enhancing vocational skills.
Jobs given to over 21,000 locals registered on the portal: The government of Maharashtra has claimed to provide employment opportunities to more than 21000 local youths who had registered on the mahaswayam portal. The portal received more than 1.7 lakh registrations between April and June.
Virohan raises $2.8 million to provide vocational training in the Healthcare sector: Viron, an educational technology company has raised USD 2.8 million across seed and series. Virohan said it will use the fresh funding to continue introducing new virtual technologies in the vocational training segment that allow for greater accessibility, scalability and immersion at affordable costs in the Healthcare sector.
JKEDI collaborates with skill development department to organize webinar for ITI pass outs: Jammu and Kashmir Entrepreneurship Development Institute (JKEDI) in collaboration with the Skill Development Department organized a webinar on the topic “Entrepreneurship as a viable career option” for the students of ITIs of the Union Territory. This webinar is the second part of the series initiated earlier this month for the students associated with the department of skill development.
SAS India collaborates with Ganpat University to launch a full-time course in Business Analytics: SAS India has partnered with Ganpat University (GUNI) for a two-year full time Master of Business Administration (MBA) in Analytics. The main objective of this program is to prepare future ready managers who are well versed in Analytics and have experience in managing current tools and techniques in vogue.
