NASSCOM partners Microsoft to skill 10 lakh students with AI capabilities: NASSCOM FutureSkills has partnered with Microsoft to launch a nationwide artificial intelligence (AI) skilling initiative to upgrade 10 lakh students by next year. NSDC collaborates with LinkedIn to accelerate digital skills training for Indian youth: NSDC has collaborated with LinkedIn, the world’s largest online professional networks, to provide access to free LinkedIn learning resources for digital skills that are in demand in today’s economy. Under the partnership, 10 free LinkedIn learning paths, consisting of 140 courses for a range of in-demand tech jobs, will be made available for free on eSkill India digital platform until 31st March, 2021. Salesforce grants USD 240,000 to six NGOs across India: Salesforce, the global leader in CMR, has announced USD $240,000 in grants to six NGO’s across India focused on bridging inequalities in society and making education and nutrition accessible. The grants will go to six organisations — The Akshaya Patra Foundation, United Way of Hyderabad, Anthill Creations Foundation, Goonj, SOS Children’s Villages of India and Protsahan India Foundation — and in a collective effort to help benefit the lives of over 15,000 people across the country.
CIPET to open two new CSTS centres: Central Institute of Petrochemicals Engineering & Technology (CIPET) will be shortly establishing two new Centres for Skilling and Technical Support- CSTS at Bhagalpur (Bihar) and Varanasi (UP). Presently CIPET has 43 operational centres and 9 more centres are in the process of establishment.
Toyota Kirloskar partners Alva’s Institute to have industry-ready technicians: Toyota Kirloskar has partnered with Alva’s Institute to develop the skills of students and to create industry-ready technicians. For BE students, the training programmes will commence in the second year and will conclude in the final year.

Join on WhatsAppCSIR-CMERI and NISE to bolster the solar energy sector: CSIR-CMERI, Durgapur and National Institute of Solar Energy (NISE), Gurugram joined hands by signing an online MoU as a ‘Strategic Association’ to bolster the Solar Energy sector across the nation. After the success of the World’s largest Solar Tree of 11.5 kWp, CSIR-CMERI intends to further its efforts towards strengthening the Renewable Energy commitments.

Andhra Pradesh government to partner ITDC to build a skill ecosystem: The government of Andhra Pradesh is going to partner with India Tourism Development Corporation (ITDC) to build a skill ecosystem in hospitality and tourism in the state. ITDC has offered to bring in some entrepreneurship models in these sectors for grooming young professionals in the hospitality sector.
Bihar
Bihar to open the skill development centres in five districts: Five districts of Bihar have been selected under the Skill India Mission to get the Skill Development Centres. The districts are- Lakhisarai, Nawada, Gaya, Sitamarhi and Purnia. The district magistrate of all the five districts will soon get Rs 10 crore fund to construct the development centre.

Policy for electronics and hardware manufacturing by Tamil Nadu government: Tamil Nadu government announced a new electronics and hardware manufacturing policy to increase the State’s electronics industry output to $100 billion by 2025. The policy also undertakes skill training for more than 1,00,000 people (semi-skilled and skilled) by 2024 to meet the incremental human resource requirement.
Uttar Pradesh
Saharanpur wood carvers to begin a new chapter: Saharanpur wood carvers are going to start a new chapter with the production of wooden toys. Saharanpur is globally acclaimed for its wood carving skills and the Uttar Pradesh government has selected it under its ‘one district, one product’ scheme. A whole new range of toys will be launched which are going to be non-toxic.
