2019 Year in review: Training of Trainers and Master Trainers

When we talk about skill development and vocational education, training becomes very important. And trainers are crucial to any kind of training program. Vocational trainers make a huge difference as they impart skills and knowledge and leave a lasting positive impact on their trainees’ lives. Therefore, Training of Trainers (ToT) and Training of Master Trainers (ToMT) becomes vital for any organization or academic institution. This helps them in consistently re-evaluating their skills and performance statistics and looking at ways to improve. Along with training the trainers, we also need to recognize the efforts of the trainers and bring more visibility to their work.

Let us look back at some of the initiatives taken towards training and bringing visibility to the trainers in the year 2019.

DFID- UK and SCPwD in collaboration with National Star College – UK conducted top-up training for trainers and master trainers

Under the ambit of SFJ, Department for International Development (DFID)-UK government and Skill Council for Persons with Disability (SCPwD) with experts from National Star College, United Kingdom organized a 4-day Top- Up Training of Trainers (ToTs) program for Intellectual Disability at National Institute for Empowerment of Persons with Intellectual Disabilities (NIEPID), Regional Centre, Kolkata between 11th -14th February 2019. Media & Entertainment Skill Council (MESC) commences training of trainers (ToT) for WorldSkills Competitions

MESC commenced training of trainers to facilitate competitive training by launching the first First Training of Trainers (ToT) Program at the Hyatt hotel in Pune. The key focus of the ToT program is to prepare the trainers using internationally approved training methodology, processes, and techniques so that they equip the candidates for skills competitions at national and international levels.
