Odisha : The Odisha Skill Development Authority signed two Memorandums of Understanding (MoU) with Tata Community Initiative Trust and Cisco to strengthen the skill ecosystem in the state.
Andhra Pradesh: Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Ltd-run Skill Development Institute has launched a new extension centre at Vizianagaram to exclusively conduct overseas job-oriented courses. The centre will train over 300 trainees at any point of time.
Himachal Pradesh: The government is stressing on skill upgradation of the youth of the State in order to provide trained and skilled workforce for ensuring that they become job providers instead of job seekers. Foundation was laid for a new National Skill Training Institute (NSTI) in Himachal Pradesh.
Assam: Assam government in collaboration with ITE Education Services (ITEES), Singapore has set up North East Skill Centre (NESC) in Guwahati to produce skilled manpower.
Nagaland: Nagaland government has started imparting skill training to the youths under the Pradhan Mantri Kaushal Vikah Yojana (PMKVY) scheme in the aviation and hospitality sectors
Karnataka: NASSCOM is in talks with the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY) to fund part of the skilling service platform it plans to open up for general use for training in new skills like IOT, RPA, Cloud computing etc.
Delhi: All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) has announced some major amendments in the existing rules for technical education which will help in improving the curriculum, faculty roles and research programmes in technical institutes across the country.
