Over eight lakh candidates benefit from NAPS: As much as 8.16 lakh candidates benefited from NAPS.Under the DDU-GKY scheme, 4.39 lakh candidates have been trained during 2018-19 and 2019-20, of which 84156 candidates belong to Scheduled Tribes.

Entrepreneurship skill development scheme for divyangs: The government is going to announce an entrepreneurship and skill training program for divyangs in an attempt to promote their talent and create a market for their products.

Rs 42,000 crore plan to boost India’s local mobile manufacturing: The government is working on Rs 42,000 crore plan to boost local manufacturing of mobile phones and ramp up production. It aims at integrating India into the global supply chain.

THSC partners Marriott India to promote Apprenticeships: Tourism and Hospitality Skill Council (THSC) has collaborated with Marriott India to promote Apprenticeship in Tourism and Hospitality sector. Marriot will engage 5000 apprentices through its network of 90 properties in India. Read more…

Bridgestone India partners with RSDC: Bridgestone India has partnered with RSDC to train and reskill individuals in tyre fitter and repair jobs. Under the partnership over 3600 youth will be reskilled.

INDIAWOOD 2020 opens with over 50 participating countries: NürnbergMesse organised the 11th edition of INDIAWOOD. The mega show focuses on carpentry, skilling, innovation, automation and digitalization with the aim to drive Indian furniture manufacturing and woodworking industry. More than 875 exhibitors from over 50 countries have participated in the show.

ICICI Foundation partners ICAR for rural growth and development: ICICI Foundation has signed an MoU with the Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR) for inclusive growth in agriculture for rural development.

Bridgestone India to reskill tyre fitters: Bridgestone India will partner Rubber Skill Development Council and National Skill Development Council to reskill over 3,600 yout. A tripartite MoU has been signed to reskill tyre fitters.

Chhattisgarh 

Chhattisgarh ultramodern sports academies to be set up: Chhattisgarh Sports Development Authority’s governing body is going to build sports academies with ultramodern amenities and advanced training facilities with support and cooperation of corporate houses.

Haryana

Haryana Budget focuses on education and skill development: Around 15 percent of the budget has been allocated to the education sector. New courses related to emerging areas of science will be started in all colleges and universities. To increase employment opportunities, 2,000 modern sales centers will be set up at identified locations across the state. Read more…

Jammu and Kashmir

Technical education and skill development should be employment oriented: The technical education department of Jammu and Kashmir was reviewed by Lieutenant Governor on the basis of employment. The technical education and skill development should be employment oriented. 

Skill training of 24000 by JKSDM: JKSDM is providing short term placement linked skill courses to unskilled and semi-skilled youth of Jammu and Kashmir. And it will complete the skill training of 24000 youth by July, 2020

Kolkata

Integrated skill development policy by the government: The Government of Kolkata has come out with an Integrated Skill Development Policy with infrastructure to train six lakh persons annually under the institutional and non-institutional mechanisms.
