Aundh ITI, Pune, is the first in India to roll out courses in robotics, mechatronics
For the first time in the country, the Industrial Training Institute (ITI), Pune, is set to rollout short-term courses in robotics and mechatronics from this academic year. Along with regular students, these two courses will also be available for former ITI students who can benefit from this platform to enhance their skills. The deputy director, Directorate of Vocational Education and Training, stated that, “Every year, many former students who are either employed or run businesses, return to ITIs seeking some advanced training. These two courses will remain open for such students.
Haryana will soon be upgrading 22 Industrial Training Institutes to Model ITIs
Haryana will soon be upgrading 22 Industrial Training Institutes to Model ITIs (ITIs) so that students would be able to get placed in international jobs. To achieve this, the Haryana Skill Development Department will collaborate with countries like Germany and Singapore. It is a matter of pride for the state that 15 students of ITI Palwal got global placement this year. ITI seats increased to 5,000 this year in Maharashtra
ITIs are in great demand! Industrial Training Institute (ITI), Pune Division has decided to increase the number of seats for Courses for Mechanics, Machinist, Electrician and allied trade services and make it 5000 this year. Though the ITIs offer courses in 80 to 85 trades, the demand is highest for manufacturing and services related trades. To cater to the emerging market, short term courses are also introduced in Robotics and Mechatronics. The short term course to be offered from June 2018 will be conducted along with industry experts.
Admissions to MANUU – ITI, Hyderabad, June 30 last date
Maulana Azad National Urdu University (MANUU) is inviting applications for ITI courses. The last date is will 30 June 2018. Courses are available in the following trades: Trades Draughtsman – Civil, Refrigeration & Air Conditioning, Electrician, Electronic Mechanic and Plumber. The application forms can be obtained at free of cost from the MANUU – I.T.I, Hyderabad or can also be download from university website www.manuu.ac.in.
The applicants must have passed 10th standard with Urdu as a subject/language/medium. All trades are offered in Urdu medium. Reservation policy will be as per Government of India norms.
Maharashtra SDED ties up with Ola to create 10,000 job opportunities
Skill Development and Entrepreneurship Department (SDED), government of Maharashtra and Ola, have signed a memorandum of understanding to create 10,000 entrepreneurial opportunities in the state. The agreement will cover training, skill development and empowerment of 10,000 driver partners for the next two years. In this partnership, Ola will work closely with the States Skill Development Department in providing essential utilities and technology framework to ensure a better employment plan for the youth of Maharashtra.

National Skill Development Corporation (NSDC), under the Ministry of Skill Development & Entrepreneurship, has partnered with deAsra Foundation, for equipping training providers with sustained entrepreneurship development of the trainees. This partnership will support the establishment of ‘Entrepreneurship Support Program’, that is meant to equip placement cells of training providers with self-employment/ entrepreneurial assistance for the skilled candidates.
CSR Conference organized by FKCCI at Bengaluru
FKCCI conducted CSR Conference and Awards at its head quarter at Bengaluru. The Deputy Chief Minister Government of Karnataka and Minister for Revenue, Skill Development, Entrepreneurship and Livelihood attended the Occasion. India CSR Network, India’s Largest CSR Network joined the conference as an outreach partner to make it successful. This was the biggest CSR event in Karnataka, which brought together companies, NGOs, Government agencies, social enterprises and advisory organizations to share and learn. It emerged as a platform to showcase projects and programs; to learn from peers; to initiate new partnerships; to find new resources; and to understand how CSR is playing a vital role in developing the state.
