Beauty and Wellness Sector is one of the most popular industry sectors attracting many youth and women who are keen on employment and entrepreneurship. It has created jobs and enabled sustainable livelihoods for thousands through various skill-based training programs under government schemes like PMKVY and through CSR initiatives implemented by a host of training partners. This sector is steadily emerging as an aspirational domain for learning and earning with additional scope for self-employment.
Recently, B&WSSC won two awards being recognized as the best skill council and this is the third time they have distinguished themselves. The first award was won at the Indo – Global Education & Skill Expo 2017, Mumbai. The award was presented by Sri Aditya Prasad Padhi, Chief Secretary & Chief Development Commissioner, Govt. of Odisha and Sri Swadhin Kshatriya, Right to Service Act Commissioner, Govt. of Maharashtra. The award was received by the CEO Beauty & Wellness Sector Skill Ms. Annu Wadhwa.
The second award was awarded at the 5th Skill Development Summit conducted by Education Network, Delhi. This was in recognition of their efforts to create awareness about employment for youth and women in an upcoming industry and show paths for careers and support entrepreneurship.
Last Year B&WSSC had won the award for the Best Sector Skill Council Silver Category from ASSOCHAM.
Speaking about the awards Ms Annu Wadhwa CEO B&WSSC said “Awards are a recognition of your efforts and hard work. It indicates that we are moving in the right directions. I wish to thank my governing council members, who have always given us unconditional support and guidance. The same would not have been possible without them.”
BWSSC is a not for profit organization promoted by CII with financial support from the National Skill Development Corporation under the aegis of Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreurship. The aim of the sector skill council is to focus on establishing an effective and efficient eco-system for development and imparting of skills for Beauty and Wellness industry including relevant curriculum courses, information database, delivery system, standardization, and accreditation and certification process to enhance the employability of the Indian workforce globally.
