As a major step towards strengthening the industry-academia connect in Agriculture and allied domain, Agriculture Skill Council of India (ASCI) has signed a MoU with Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU), New Delhi for conducting Agricultural skilling programs for IGNOU students. This is the first collaboration between a SSC under the aegis of Ministry of Skill Development & Entrepreneurship with IGNOU which happens to be world’s largest Open University with 3 million students.
Highlights of the MoU between ASCI and IGNOU
- IGNOU would be conducting Agriculture related skill & assessment programs as per the National Skill Qualification Framework (NSQF).
- They will jointly develop skill development centers for training and capacity building across various segments of agriculture sector and conduct skill gap analysis for the agriculture & Agri-allied segment.
- IGNOU would support ASCI in the development of curriculum and course content for various segments
