Updates from the MSDE, NSDC, NCVET, UGC
- To empower youth in the Beauty & Wellness sector, MSDE, congratulated 270 candidates certified under PMKVY 4.0 and Skill India CSR projects at the 3rd B&WSSC convocation, which has trained over 13 lakh candidates.
- NCVET organized a workshop on “Skill Taxonomy” to enhance officials’ understanding of skill taxonomy in the vocational education, training, and skilling ecosystem.
- TeamLease Degree Apprenticeship has partnered with NSDC to provide Indian youth with industry experience alongside theoretical knowledge for a comprehensive education.
- NSDC Academy partners with Lamrin Tech Skills University to enhance training support, combining expertise and resources to promote skill development and industry readiness.
- Union Home Minister Shri Amit Shah e-inaugurated 30 smart schools in Ahmedabad, a Rs 36 crore investment benefiting over 10,000 children, as part of the NEP 2020 implementation.
- Shri Jayant Chaudhary, Minister of State (Independent Charge), MSDE felicitated 32 healthcare professionals for completing B1 German language training, aiming to empower Indian nurses for careers in Germany.

Stakeholder collaboration – Industry, Academia and Government
- The Automotive Skills Development Council (ASDC) and Bosch have launched a livelihood training program in Bengaluru, aiming to train 700 youth in 2-wheeler and 4-wheeler service technician courses.
- The Karnataka Skill Development Corporation (KSDC) has sent 94 candidates to Slovakia under an overseas job scheme, providing specialized training and financial support to economically disadvantaged youth.
- Union Minister Nitin Gadkari urged industries to establish skill development institutes to create an industry-ready workforce, speaking at the CII-Industry Academia Conclave in Nagpur.
- The Noida Power Company Limited through its ‘Project Sankalp: Skilling and Livelihood Program’ has made strides in helping youth secure placements in various companies.
- Kalinga Institute of Social Sciences (KISS) signed an MoU with the Indian Society for Technical Education (ISTE) to offer vocational degree courses.
- Ather Energy has partnered with TATA Indian Institute of Skills to offer specialized EV sector training programs, aiming to develop a skilled workforce for India’s growing EV market.
- Jewel Master Institute (JMI) has successfully concluded its ‘Certification in Jewelry Retail Course’ in collaboration with GJSCI, empowering candidates with essential skills for jewelry trading.
- IGNOU’s School of Vocational Education and Training is offering a Diploma in Fashion Design and Retail focusing on developing specialized professionals in fashion retail, including areas like merchandising, supply chain management, and visual merchandising.
- Manipal Academy of Higher Education (MAHE) and Roche Diagnostics India have signed an MoU to establish a Centre of Excellence focused on skill development and innovation in diagnostics, aiming to strengthen academia-industry collaboration in healthcare.
- Chandigarh University and Bajaj Auto Ltd. have signed an MoU to establish a six-month residential skill development program, aligned with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s initiative.
- In Moga, 50 artisans are engaged in a skill development project, with 10 already achieving master trainer status.
- The higher education department to establish World Skill Academy and Smart Manufacturing Centres in government polytechnics to train students in electrical installation, industrial controls, and automation.
- The Department of Technical Education has integrated the One District One Product (ODOP) initiative of ten districts with existing ITI courses to enhance skills, boost ODOP product sales, and increase employability.
Skilling and Upskilling in Emerging Technologies
- Punjab Skill Development Mission (PSDM) has signed an MoU with Microsoft to equip 10,000 youth with essential digital, employability, and technology skills, including AI and cybersecurity, within a year.
- Students at ITI Berhampur collaborated with the Indo-German Initiative for Technical Education to develop 64 projects, including solar vehicles and a green hydrogen generator, showcased at a two-day exhibition aligned with UN Sustainable Development Goals.
