India’s green hydrogen industry is making substantial strides as it positions itself to meet future energy demands and reduce dependence on fossil fuels. Updates from the MSDE, NSDC, NCVET, UGC

  • NCVET granted dual recognition to Karmayogi Bharat enabling it to assess, certify, and award qualifications directly through its managed training centers.
  • MSDE urged states and UTs to support ITI graduates in joining the Prime Minister’s Internship Scheme, ensuring eligible youth access its benefits.
  • The Prime Minister National Apprenticeship Mela was held at ITI Bandipora, attracting over 200 aspirants and local industry representatives to promote skill development and apprenticeship opportunities.
  • The government launched development projects in Bihar’s Jamui, focusing on tribal welfare, infrastructure, training, and youth employment.

Updates on CSR-skill development

  • Toyota Kirloskar Motor launched educational and vocational initiatives on National Education Day to empower underprivileged youth with job-ready skills in Karnataka and across India.
  • Samsung India has certified 3,500 students in 2024 under its Innovation Campus program, aligning with Skill India and Digital India to train youth in AI, IoT, Big Data, and Coding.
  • Edutest Solutions, in partnership with Ambuja Cement Foundation, has trained 159 rural youth in Gujarat, with 105 securing jobs at leading companies like Bosch and Tata Motors.
  • BluPine Energy launches initiatives in Punjab’s Mansa district, including solar lighting, a Mini Science Center, and vocational training for youth in three villages.
  • HDFC Bank’s Parivartan initiative will set up SMART classes in 3,500 schools and provide scholarships to 25,000 underprivileged students to enhance digital education and learning.
  • Hindustan Zinc is empowering over 200,000 children in Rajasthan through education, health, and community support initiatives, ensuring brighter futures for underprivileged and special needs children.

  • The Govind Hari Singhania Skill Development Centre was inaugurated by Governor Anandiben Patel providing tailoring training to 100 women.
  • The government launched a ₹500 crore scheme to boost India’s medical device industry, focusing on manufacturing, skills, clinical studies, and infrastructure.
  • The government of Odisha will implement NEP 2020 across state-run universities and colleges starting this academic year.
  • The government of Andhra Pradesh unveils a plan to groom 8,000 entrepreneurs annually, aiming to nurture one entrepreneur per family.
  • The government of Himachal Pradesh aims to become a national hub for skill development, equipping youth with industry-ready expertise through advanced technology training.
  • The Federation of Hotel & Restaurant Associations of India (FHRAI) hosted the HR Summit on Education and Career in Hospitality, in New Delhi, focusing on reshaping hospitality education and workforce solutions.
  • Healthium and HSSC signed an MoU to collaborate on training programs for skilling, reskilling, and upskilling healthcare workers in India.
  • The Adi Dravidar and Tribal Welfare Department, Tamil Nadu, has launched a skill voucher scheme offering financial support to SC and ST final-year students for skill training in emerging fields.
  • The Handicrafts and Carpet Sector Skill Council (HCSSC) partnered with Flipkart to host an orientation workshop in Moradabad, empowering artisans to become entrepreneurs through e-commerce.
  • Avaada Group signed an MoU with India’s National Green Hydrogen Mission to enhance skill development and empower youth in the green hydrogen sector.
  • IIT Bombay and Autodesk have signed an MoU to equip future engineers, designers, and innovators for careers in the design and make industries.
  • The Pharmacy Council of India, in partnership with LSSSDC, will launch a training programme on November 30 to upskill 6,000 registered pharmacists in Andhra Pradesh.
  • The Game Developers Association of India (GDAI) signed MoUs with FICCI, Rajasthan, and Sikkim to foster growth and innovation in India’s gaming sector.
  • THSC leads an upskilling initiative at Rashtrapati Bhawan under PMKVY 4.0, enhancing service standards for staff in key roles like Kitchen Trainee and Housekeeping Assistant.
