Telangana Academy for Skill and Knowledge (TASK) has been conducting several skill-based training courses for youth from various districts of Telangana. In the valedictory function held on 20th March 2017, TASK distributed certificates to successfully skilled candidates. The training courses were offered in partnership with ICICI Foundation for Inclusive Growth.
Almost a year ago, Telangana Academy for Skill and Knowledge (TASK) and ICICI Foundation for Inclusive Growth had signed an MOU in April 2016 for enabling supply of skilling manpower to the industry. They had decided to adopt new age technologies in line with industry needs and today over 600+ of them have been mobilised and skilled across Telangana of which over 90% of them have secured employment from several organizations in the roles around office administration, sales, retail and web designing.
One of the key challenges of this collaboration was the mobilization of youth from districts and convincing them to come to Hyderabad for a 90 day period for skilling. These youth mobilized were from varied qualification backgrounds (10th standard, Intermediate and Degree) who were brought to Hyderabad and the boarding and lodging was sponsored by TASK and skilling by the ICICI Foundation. These skilling sessions were delivered through Instructor Led Training, Self-Study Labs and Role Play sessions. The intensive 90 days skilling helped the students to transform and mould themselves to the market and industry requirements.
The youth regained confidence and new skills were able to secure employment offers from companies like Apollo Healthcare Centers, Varun Motors, Mallik Motors Godrej, More Supermarket, HDB Financial Services Ltd, Bharti Airtel Limited, Karvy , Shoppers Stop to name a few.
Speaking at the valedictory function today at the TASK office Principal Secretary~ Industries and ITEC, Mr Jayesh Ranjan congratulated the youth who secured offers and handed over their offer letters. He informed the students to stay focused on being disciplined at their place of work, adapt to their culture and enhance skills for further growth.
