Skills Competition Odisha Beauty Winners

     Mahima Gandhi

“My name is Mahima Gandhi. After completing 12th, I was really confused about my career. Since my childhood, I was keen and passionate about things related to makeup but still I ended up choosing a Computer Science course. When my father got to know this, he supported me whole-heartedly and asked me to follow my dreams. I got myself enrolled in LTA School of Beauty and the moment they told me about World Skills, I knew this was my chance to prove myself and my talent. Being a part of IndiaSkills now, has not only become a ray of hope for me but also for my family as they are true Patriots. After competing in Regional Round East and being the winner in beauty category, the attachment towards world skills has become an integral part of my life.
My family, trainers, counsellors have played an indispensable role in this journey. They whole heartedly put their soul in training us and making us capable and smart enough to groom our skills. I am looking forward to Nationals and then competing internationally.”

        Manisha Tandon

“My name is Manisha Tandon and I’m 19 year old. In my family, I have my father who is a doctor, my mother who is a house wife and a younger sister and brother.
I was always very keen to build a career in beauty industry and my family was supportive enough to let me choose an option of my liking. I got myself enrolled in VLCC Institute and got a thorough knowledge of Hairstyling and Make-up.
During my course I got to know about IndiaSkills Competition through my Institute and I decided to participate in the hair dressing category which is my forte. I cleared the state level (runner up ) at regionals held in Bhubaneswar and its was such a great experience of my life. Now I m preparing for the national competition and will try to give my best.”

    Deepali Raj

“My name is Deepali Raj and I’m 18 years old. I had an interest for Makeup and Hairstyling since an early age and things like these always fascinated me. As my family members weren’t much aware about career in this field, they were hesitant at first place to let me go for this but because of my persistent interest, they agreed and In fact helped me to get admission in VLCC Institute.

During my course, I got to know about IndiaSkills competition through our Institute, as I had an interest for hair dressing so I decided to participate for the same. My hair faculty members guided me at each and every moment pre competition and as a result first I cleared the state level and then I was also the runner up at regionals held in Lucknow.    It was a very great competition as I learnt a lot through it and also it provided me great experience and a great platform to meet professionals of this field like Samantha Kochhar.  Now I’m preparing for the nationals of the same competition and intend to represent India internationally.”
