Signifying exceptional bilateral cooperation between the two countries, especially in the field of skill development, the training and departure of the first batch of 12 interns has been accomplished within nine months of the signing of the MoC. TITP is monitored by National Skill Development Corporation (NSDC), under the aegis of MSDE.

They are academically qualified from polytechnics and industrial institutes in the state. Under the TITP, the candidates received skill training and were oriented in Japanese language, culture, customs and manners. Demonstrating commitment to excel, the candidates worked hard to acquire functional and social skills. The pre-departure training was conducted by native Japanese teachers specifically engaged for this purpose at the Chennai facility of the Sending Organisation – Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) in collaboration with Nihon Technology Private Limited (NTPL).
