International events in skill development held in India
ASSOCHAM – Summit and Awards on Skilling India held on 15th March 2016 in Delhi. Some of the awards at a glance: Rajasthan bags Gold Trophy skill development award second time in 2 years; The Uttar Pradesh Skill Development Mission (UPSDM) -best state award for skills development; ATDC – the best vocational training provider; DLF Foundation- best NGO: vocational training’; Frankfinn – gold award for best higher vocational institute for skill development; Telangana State skill development mission bags the second position award for best state.
FICCI: The one-day FICCI Global Skills Summit or the 9th GSS held in Delhi on 15th September saw active participation from the industry, the government, the training partners and the academia to discuss and deliberate a host of issues related to skill development, employment and employability with emphasis on ‘Skilling for the future’. EIFE: The first ever India International Skill Development Summit & Exhibition (IISDSE 2016) was organised by Europe India Foundation for Excellence (EIFE), on 21-22 November 2016 at The Grand Hotel in New Delhi. The 2-day summit saw active participation from 35 European skill development and Vocational Education and Training (VET) organizations along with the Indian counterparts to explore opportunities for collaboration between India and Europe. Security Skills Council: Security Skills and Leadership Summit 2016 was held in Bengaluru on 13th and 14th November 2016. This was the 11th conference held in partnership with CAPSI, Karnataka Security Services Association, regional security bodies and many private organizations.
