 Industrial Training Institutes(ITIs)

• Improvement of 400 ITIs through Vocational Training Improvement Project (VTIP) with World Bank Assistance.
• Upgradation of 1396 Government ITIs through Public Private Partnership (PPP)
• Upgradation of Government ITIs into Model ITIs
• Enhancing Skill Development Infrastructure in North Eastern States & Sikkim

Equivalence for ITIs

As per an MoU between MSDE and NIOS/MHRD ,ITI students will get academic equivalence through credit transfer based on test from NIOS. This equivalence will help in upward mobility in academics, jobs and careers.

Apprenticeships

Apprenticeships get a new boost with approval of National Apprenticeship Promotion Scheme (NAPS). The Scheme has an outlay of Rs. 10,000 crore with a target of 50 lakh apprentices to be trained by 2019-20.The incentive based scheme will be implemented by Director General of Training under MSDE.
