- Foundation laid for the first Ever Indian Institute of Skills at Kanpur, Uttar Pradesh
- Approval for the formation of Group ‘A’ Service titled ‘Indian Skill Development Service’ with 263 posts at various levels.
- First ever placement ceremony conducted for retiring Indian Air Force personnel through Skill Certification in partnership with Ministry of Defence.
- The launch of Transnational Skill Standards in India by benchmarking to United Kingdom across 82 identified job roles.
- Launch Of Pradhan Mantri Yuva Yojana (PMYY) to scale up an ecosystem of entrepreneurship for youngsters.
PMYY scheme has a project cost of Rs. 499.94 crore, and will provide entrepreneurship education and training to over 7 lakh students in 5 years through 3050 Institutes. - 31 Pradhan Mantri Kaushal Kendras (PMKKs) and 100 Drivers’ Training Institutes will be set up across the country.
