Government of India to conduct skill mapping of citizens returning from overseas: The Government of India has launched a new initiative SWADES to conduct a skill mapping exercise of the returning citizens under the Vande Bharat Mission. GoDaddy to support Indian web professionals during COVID-19 crisis: GoDaddy has launched unique programmes to support Indian web professionals during COVID-19 crisis. These initiatives will equip them with the right online tools, knowledge, and skills needed to help grow their ventures and their client’s ventures online.

Five-day skill-a-thon by GUVI: A five-day skill-athon was organized by GUVI from 31st May 2020 to 4th June 2020. Students from over 220 colleges from across the country participated in the event.

Raj Kaushal portal launched by the government of Rajasthan: The government of Rajasthan has launched the Raj Kaushal portal to ensure giving jobs to the migrant workers who have returned from other states. The portal will also ensure making workers available to the industries facing labour shortage. So far, data of nearly 53 lakh workers and 11.18 lakh employers have been uploaded. 

SkillGovernment ITI Mohali distributed 44001 masks free of cost to the needy: Government ITI Mohali has distributed 44001 masks free of cost to the needy. All the institutes in Punjab have made history by making 11 lakh cloth masks from around 4200 girl trainees.

E-learning course enrollments grew 162% in April over March: There is a rise in demand for online skilling courses even as people are stuck at home due to the Coronavirus outbreak. The e-learning course enrollment has grown 162% in April over March.

Online portal for skilled migrants by the Karnataka government: The Government of Karnataka has set up the portal www.migrant.kar.kaushalkar.com for skilled workers, especially migrants from other states across the country or even overseas to register their name and other details to find suitable jobs for them in any industry sector.

Online skill development crash course by JKSDM: Jammu and Kashmir Skill Development Mission (JKSDM) has launched the second batch of its online program for IT professionals. 750 candidates have been shortlisted and will receive special training on skills trades.
