APSSDC commences with Rubber Sector training
In a significant development poised to boost skilling in rubber in the fast industrializing state of Andhra Pradesh, Rubber Skill Development Council (RSDC) had signed a MoU with Andhra Pradesh State Skill Development Corporation (APSSDC).
The objective of the MoU is to establish a partnership for preparation and implementation of a training model in preparing youth of Andhra Pradesh as employable workforce for the Rubber Industry. Under the MoU, APSSDC will impart Rubber Sector Skill based training programmes, which will be aligned to the Qualification Packs developed by RSDC as per the National Skill Qualification Framework.
RSDC will conduct assessment of trainees trained in the rubber sector by the training providers (TPs) empanelled with RSDC. The successful candidates will be certified by the RSDC as per NSQF levels. RSDC will also organize ‘train the trainer’ programmes in the rubber job roles for the empanelled TPs.
Training for four job roles, namely Junior Rubber Technician, Mill Operator, Extruder Operator and Compression Moulding Operator, has already begun in Srikakulam, Vishakapatnam and Nellore. The affiliated training partner, Meher Software Solutions, has mobilized students from around the area to provide them with skill training apt for the rubber industry. These trainees will be ready to be deployed by the end of May 2018. RSDC urges the rubber industries around these locations to step forward and hire these trainees.
“Andhra Pradesh is fast emerging as an Auto hub of the country, being ranked much higher on the ease of doing business index. A clutch of top automobile and tyre companies have already committed to set up manufacturing base in the state. Needless to say, rubber sector will get a fillip in the state and so will be the demand for the skilled manpower. RSDC has taken upon itself to join hands with the state skill mission and help increase competitiveness of the skilling in rubber sector as many of those who get trained are not employment ready”, said Ms Meghna Mishra, CEO of RSDC.
