UDAY’s initiative to empower dairy farmers of India – Project Mooo- was captured by DD National in their show “Aap Ki Baat”. DD National covered how this Project is changing the face of Indian dairy farming by leveraging Information Communications & Technologies (ICT) through a mobile application for dairy farmers.
Project Mooo is a private extension and Agri-tech initiative, solving dairy industry’s key challenges of herd productivity, lack of awareness and access and milk traceability.
This project recently won an award for “Most Innovative Idea of the Year”, awarded by Punjab’s Finance Minister Mr. Manpreet Singh Badal at TieCon, Chandigarh.
Dr. Satender Singh Arya, CEO – Agriculture Sector Skill Council- presented his views on the need for modern dairy farming through external intervention.
“As per Prime Minister’s vision, our goal is to double the income of small, marginalised farmers by leveraging ICT in Dairy”, said Mr Param Singh – Founder & MD, UDAY
“We provide boot camp trainings through a mobile dairy, offer demand-led-extension training through Mooo App and create AgTech rural start-ups by village entrepreneurs”, added Ms Aashna Singh – Business Head-Rural Prosperity, UDAY
Mooo App is a farm management application that leverages data analytics and harnesses the power of big data to create an immediate impact on the productivity and income of dairy farmers. In a short span of time, Project Mooo has trained 3000+ dairy farmers in 80+ villages of Sangrur District, Punjab.
Mr Inderjit Singh – Director, Punjab Dairy Development Board, lauded the efforts of Project Mooo for promoting women dairy farmers as well.
