Skill development news from the government
- The government is in the process of consultations with various stakeholders for improving the apprenticeship processes, guidelines and rules through which the amendment to the Apprentices Act, 1961 would be finalized under MSDE.
- The Ministry of Minority Affairs have started ‘Panchakarma Technician Course’ under ‘SeekhoAurKamao’ programme. It has commenced its free skill development classes at Pahadi Sharif after the third wave.
- Under the “Seekho aur Kamao” (Learn and Earn), “Nai Manzil”, and the “USTTAD” (Upgrading the Skills and Training in Traditional Arts/Crafts for Development) schemes, over 6.50 lakh individuals from minority communities have received training for skill development.
- Under the project ‘Samarth,’ the Ministry of Textiles and Nagpur central jail have jointly planned to organize a 45-day skill-based training in the textile sector which revolves around skill development.

- Tata STRIVE is inviting applications for the role of Associate Lead- Governance and Monitring. Candidate should have 7-10 Years of experience with minimum 3 years of relevant experience in skilling industry.
- Opening for Lead Partnerships (Government) – TATA STRIVE. Candidate should have 8-10 Years of experience with minimum 5 years of relevant experience in skilling industry.
- Applications are invited for the role of Centre Manager cum Facilitator at Tata STRIVE for which the desired experince is minimum 6-8 years with 2-3 years in skills development.

- With an aim to provide skill development programmes to youth in rural and remote areas of the country, NSDC signed an MoU with Common Services Centers (CSS) and collaborated with the delivery of services related to them. Read more…
- To bridge the gap between skills and job opportunities in demand-supply asymmetry and to address the Indian IT/ITeS sector’s demand for skilled professionals, ISF announced that it has signed an MoU with FutureSkills Prime, a MeitY-NASSCOM digital skilling initiative.

- As the government has extended the production-linked incentive scheme and introduced a single-window DigitalSky platform to help the drone manufacturing industry grow, NCVET has approved a six-month course in drones to cater to the growing demand for trained professionals in the sector.
- Cambridge University Press and BIHER has signed an MoU with an aim to start a world-class academic research and language development centre for English. This can also explore academic and research-publishing initiatives for faculty members.
- Focusing on making advanced learning in the science and pharmaceutical space accessible to its students, Marwadi University has signed an MoU with Almelo Private Limited (Hyderabad), Lifeactivus Private Limited (Hyderabad), and Life Sciences Sector Skill Development Council (LSSSDC).
Skill development news from the states
- Andhra Pradesh – State Government Adviser, Challa Madhusudan Reddy said that in collaboration with NSDC, InfiSpark and WhatsApp, APSSDC has planned on imparting training to youth on digital skills.
- Arunachal Pradesh – By the Department of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship, candidates were imparted employable skill development training to the Puroik Community in Itanagar through its training providers on sponsorship by the Department of Social Justice and Empowerment and Tribal Affairs, under Livelihood Generation Activities for the Puroik youth.
- Assam – TATA group is going to upgrade the ITIs and polytechnics in Assam. TATA Group is already transforming technical institutes of Assam into technology hubs with their innovative project ‘Transforming Engineering Academia to Industry 4.0’.
- Gujarat – The Gujarat Secondary and Higher Secondary Education Board (GSHSEB) and the Labour, Skill Development and Employment Department have joined hands to conduct English classes for ITIs in the state to simplify the exam and to increase the pass percentage.
- Haryana – The HSSP has informed all the educational officials to hold a five-day long skill development camp for all girl students and for boys from SC and ST communities.
- Jammu and Kashmir – Aiming towards enhancing women skill development in Jammu and Kashmir, Indian Army launches a vocational training centre for women for ‘Waadiyan Bakery Project’ in Mangnar village of Poonch.
- Karnataka – A toy manufacturing cluster will be set up in Koppal by KSDC to train 26,000 people in the Koppal toys skills.
- Mizoram – To impart best practices in agriculture to farmers and to help them improve their income, Lunglei Battalion of the Assam Rifles conducted a lecture on skill development and farming technique at Zorinpui village in Mizoram.
- Odisha – Prasar Bharati News Services has recently tweeted that a pilot project needs to be started to provide skill training to women artisans who are engaged in the golden grass craft of Odisha. It is a collaborative initiative of Kendrapara DSC, SIDAC, Odisha and MSDE.
- Rajasthan – With a focus on supporting entrepreneurs who have the potential to boost their expertise and skills to create an impact for the society, IIM Udaipur launched a student-managed Impact Investment Fund (IIF).
