Skill India Mission to take bottoms up approach: Skill India’s mission is going to take the bottoms up approach in skilling the citizens under which the district administrations will get a good share of responsibilities from demand assessment to jobs linkage of trained youth.

SkillUp program for tech professionals by Simplilearn: Simplilearn has launched SkillUp program to help individuals get started with a tech career. Under the initiative, learners across the globe will have free access to over 1,000 hours of learning and tech skilling programs covering over 300 in-demand skills.

Free education initiative in Salesforce software and tools: Techila Academy by Techila Global Services is providing free courses in salesforce software and tools. It has trained more than 500 students in marketing cloud, salesforce admin, salesforce development, and Pardot. The two month training is linked with an internship as well. 

MeitY collaborates with IBM to enhance employability: The Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY) has partnered with IBM India to create a robust education and skilling ecosystem through Common Services Centre (CSC) Academy. IBM courses will be integrated into 6000 CSC Academy training centers, reaching out to 500,000 learners across 26 states in India.

Innovation hub on AI and ML: IIT Kharagpur has set up a technology innovation hub on artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning (ML) to translate academic research to industrially scalable products and processes. 

REC collaborates with CII to provide skill training to underprivileged youth: REC Ltd. has partnered with CII to provide industry aligned, job oriented skill training and employment to 1500 underprivileged youths. Under the program, youths from Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Himachal Pradesh, NCR, Bihar and Maharashtra will receive job oriented skill training. 

Covid-19 hits job availability leaving PMKVY training centres distressed: The job availability has radically gone down in the wake of COVID-19. This scarcity of jobs has affected the PMKVY training centres and led to the shutdown of TCs in various parts of the country. 

TRIFED collaborates with NIESBUD to foster tribal livelihood development: TRIFED has signed an MoU with NIESBUD to improve the lives and livelihoods of the tribals and work towards tribal empowerment.

Haryana SDIT signs two MoUs to improve placements for ITIs: Haryana SDIT has signed two MoUs with Medha Learning Foundation to provide best practical training to the trainees and to improve placements for ITI pass outs. 

Jammu and Kashmir

National workshop on Mushroom Cultivation- Avenues and Challenges: SKUAST-Jammu organized a virtual national workshop on Mushroom Cultivation: Avenues and Challenges in partnership with Government Degree College, Poonch and NGO Attitude Change International. Over 400 participants from across the nation and from foreign nations like Nigeria, Malaysia and several other countries participated in the event.

Kerala

A cutting-edge app for school students by EdTech startup JpnMe: EdTech startup JPnMe Pvt Ltd has launched a cutting edge application for school students. SkEdu by JPnMe is an AI based digital assessment platform which provides holistic performance improvement in the school community.

Leh Ladakh

Skill development programs for craftsmans of Leh Ladakh: Indian Institute of Packaging (IIP) organized a skill development program on packaging for craftsmans of Leh-Ladakh. More than 40 participants attended the programme.

Punjab

PAU organizes online training courses on precision technologies for fruits, veggies: PAU has organized a two-day online training course on ‘Precision Technologies for Fruits and Vegetables’. In total, 19 agriculture, horticulture and soil conservation officers and scientists from the PAU and its Krishi Vigyan Kendras attended the course.
