Two skill colleges in Nellore: Nellore is going to have two skill colleges. On the basis of Nellore and Tirupati Lok Sabha constituencies, the two colleges will be set up in Nellore and Venkatagiri.
Himachal Pradesh
Himachal Pradesh University Shimla partners EduSkills: Himachal Pradesh University Shimla has collaborated with EduSkills to provide training in digital skills. A national webinar was also organized by HP University Shimla and EduSkills on “Importance of Digital Skills for a Better Tomorrow”.
One-year vocational training course on Horticulture Management: Nauni, has invited applications for its one-year vocational training course on Horticulture Management. There are 130 seats for this course and candidates of 17 to 30 years with agriculture background and having matriculation qualification are eligible.
Jammu and Kashmir
Director JKSDM reviews performance of PMKVY training providers: The performance of Jammu and Kashmir Skill Development Mission (JKSDM) affiliated training providers at Jammu was reviewed through an online meeting. It stressed upon demand driven skill training to the youths of Jammu and Kashmir.
Kerala
Ornamental fish farming training by NSS: NSS has conducted an online skill development programme in ornamental fish farming in association with KUFOS. A university certificate was presented to participants who completed the course.
Maharashtra
IREL Limited collaborates with UKTMP JSC Kazakhstan: IREL Limited has signed an MoU with UKTMP JSC Kazakhstan for the production of Titanium Slag in India. Production of Titanium Slag will pave way for production of Titanium Sponge which is essential to meet strategic needs of the country in atomic energy.
Nagaland
IWSN training institute inaugurated by UDD: The Kohima branch of Incessant Welfare Society Nagaland (IWSN) training institute was inaugurated by UDD. The institute will start with cutting and tailoring training and will upgrade to other trades gradually.
Odisha
MCL partners CIPET for multi-skill training to peripheral youth: MCL has partnered with CIPET to provide multi-skill training to the youth. Under the partnership, CIPET will provide six-months residential training to 24 youths from the operational areas of MCL under its CSR project ‘Handyman’.
Highest ever enrolment in government ITIs in Odisha: Government ITIs in Odisha have reported less than 5 per cent vacancy among the 18,000-odd seats that were advertised in the current academic session boosting the state government’s mission of “Skilled in Odisha”.
Punjab
Scheme to empower PwDs approved by Punjab cabinet: Punjab Cabinet has approved a scheme to empower persons with disabilities. The new scheme “Punjab Divyangjan Sashaktikaran Yojana (PDSY)” which will be implemented in a phased manner across the state.
