MSDE, NSDC Invite applications for IndiaSkills 2020: MSDE and NSDC have invited applications for IndiaSkills 2020 from young students and entrepreneurs to showcase their skills and talents on a global level. The last date for registration has not yet confirmed. There are 50 skills to choose from and the potential competitors need to register through an online portal to participate in IndiaSkills 2020 competitions.
NSDC partners with upGrade to revive vocational training and certification: To revive vocational training and certification facilities in India, NSDC has partnered with upGrade making it a part of government’s skill India initiative. upGrade will train and place 32,000 learners in the course for the next three years in different sectors.
MSDE partners with IBM to launch SkillsBuild platform: MSDE has partnered with IBM to launch SkillBuild platform. Under which a two-year advanced diploma in IT, networking and cloud computing, co-created and designed by IBM, will be offered at ITIs and NSTIs. The platform will be extended to train ITI & NSTI faculty on building skills in Artificial Intelligence (AI). New initiative ‘YuWaah’ launched with support from the UNICEF: India launched a new initiative YuWaah with the support of UNICEF to transform and add to the growth of education. It will deal with many problems in this domain In collaboration with many national and international partners.

Andhra Pradesh
AU collaborates with Avanthi Aqua Culture Foundation to establish Aquaculture Skill Development Centre in Visakhapatnam: In collaboration with Avanthi Aqua Culture Foundation, Andhra University is going to train thousands of fishermen in aquaculture and shrimp farming.
Skills on Wheels bus launched by APSSDC to provide digital skills training in rural areas: To facilitate rural people with skill training, Andhra Pradesh State Skill Development Corporation (APSSDC) launched Skills on Wheels buses. The buses will travel to rural areas of Andhra Pradesh and will provide skill development training to the rural people.
Arunachal Pradesh
SDE organized a workshop on TITP in Itanagar: A workshop on the technical internship training programme (TITP) was held by the skill development & entrepreneurship (SDE) department in collaboration with NSDC.
Assam
Assam to provide skill training to workers: The minister Assam Skill Development Mission is going to provide the necessary skill training to the local workers needed to operate the production unit which is going to be set up by Norway. It should be noted that Norway is all set to invest in Assam to build production units for which the Government of Assam is going to provide land.
Gujarat
Dassault to build Centre of Excellence at Gujarat Technological University: To provide high end training to engineers in aircraft engineering, space engineering, ship building and automotive engineering, Dassault is going to set up Centre of Excellence at Gujarat Technological University.
Himachal Pradesh
World class multi skill institute to be established in Himachal: A world class multi skill institute is going to established in Himachal Pradesh by Director general of Confederation of Indian Industry (CII). This centre will train at least 10,000 youths in various sectors to make them employable. CII is the partner in housing global investor meet.
Jammu and Kashmir
Skill-development workshop to be organized for workers in apple orchards: A skill-development workshop is going to be organized by Murshidabad administration for at least 30,000 migrant labourers from various neighbouring areas for seasonal employment in apple orchards.
Vocational training for youth conducted by Army: Army is going to conduct a basic plumber course for the youth of Harni town in Poonch District from November 1 to January 22 , 2020 at Vocational Training Centre, Harni. The Course is being conducted in collaboration with Director of Technical Education (DTE), J&K under Sadbhavana.
Maharashtra
LANXESS India adds to employability through its vocational skill centre: As a part of it’s CSR programme, LANXESS India Private Limited established a skill development centre in Thane. It aims to provide training to aspiring candidates looking for suitable employability. The LANXESS B-ABLE SKILL CENTRE was set up in association with BASIX Academy for Building Lifelong Employability Limited (B-Able).
Pune college partners with McDonald’s to launch retail management course: To explore the retail market and to teach the students about management industry, Ness Wadia College of Commerce has started a Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) course in retail management in association with McDonald’s India.The three-year BBA – Retail Operations course at Ness Wadia College of Commerce offers a dual model education programme and combines classroom training with on-the-job training.
Odisha
Odisha signs MoU with TATA Strive and Tech Mahindra for youth skill development: The Government of Odisha has signed an MoU with TATA Strive and Tech Mahindra for skill development and to create employment opportunities for the youth. The MoU aims to target different sectors of skill development in the state.
Punjab
Punjab looks to correct courses to bridge the skill gap in the state: To bridge the skill gap, the Government of Punjab is planning a course correction. to make the candidates match the qualification standards of the industry, the government has decided to revise the curriculum of different courses being offered by technical institute, and introduce new courses.

Rajasthan
118 colleges in Rajasthan to have 39 skill development courses: 39 skill development courses will be started in 118 state colleges in Rajasthan under the Mukhya Mantri Yuva Kaushal Yojana. Rajasthan Skill and Livelihood Development Corporation (RSLDC) has signed an MoU with higher education department regarding the same. The state government will also launch a “Placement portal” under this scheme.
Telangana
Telengana to establish skill training centre and seed testing lab: The Telangan Government is going to establish skill training centre for farmers and a seed testing lab with ISTA standards in the seed park. The training centre aims to provide necessary skill training to the local farmers.
Uttar Pradesh
Fabrication Training Program organised for jail inmates: The stainless steel fabrication training program was conducted to educate trainees in Varanasi jail on key fabrication functions like welding, cutting, and polishing of stainless steel
Hunar Hub to be established in all states: The Government of India is going to establish “Hunar Hab” (Talent Hub) in all states for skill development of indigenous artisans, craftsmen and traditional culinary experts as per the needs of the market.

NASSCOM partners SAP to create 2 million skilled workforce in emerging technologies: NASSCOM signed an MoU with business software solutions major SAP India to skill, reskill and upskill the workforce across industries. The aim is to make India a global hub for talent in emerging technologies by 2025. The FutureSkills program of IT industry’s apex body was launched in February 2018, and aims to reskill professionals, potential employees over a period of next five years.
IPSC collaborated with HSIL to set up advanced plumbing lab in Odisha: The Indian Plumbing Skills Council (IPSC) partnered with Hindware Home (HSIL) to set up an advanced plumbing lab at the Pattamundai Industrial Training Institute (ITI), Kendrapada, Odisha. ‘The lab aims to impact an estimated 10,000 beneficiaries in Odisha.
