In view of recent lockdown due to the crisis of coronavirus, the Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship (MSDE) decided to extend the enrolments under Pradhan Mantri Kaushal Vikas Yojana (PMKVY) by two months i.e., till 31st May 2020, for the eight North–Eastern Region (NER) states. However, for all other non-NER states, the centrally sponsored PMKVY 2016-20 comes to an end across India on March 31st, 2020.
In the memorandum released by the Director, MSDE, it stated that the last date for enrolments under PMKVY has been extended for NER states by two months, i.e., till May 31st, 2020. However, the last date for enrolment for all other states will remain the same as the previous date, i.e., March 31st, 2020.
The memorandum also stated that all training programs, orientation programs should start or resume within 30 days from the date of revocation of the lock-down and must be completed by 31st August 2020. Further, the Ministry also advised that all the assessments and certifications must be completed by 15th September 2020.

MSDE strictly advised National Skill Development Corporation (NSDC) and State Skill Development Missions (SSDMs) of the States/UTs, the implementing agencies of PMKVY 2016-20 that they must adhere to the provisions and deadlines for which no further extension will be entertained.
