Mr. Vinod Gupta

“We aim to establish more than 150 centres by 2025. We provide students with the opportunity to intern with various industry partners in the Electric Vehicle (EV) sector to gain industry experience,” said Mr Vinod Gupta, Founder and CEO of the Imperial Society of Innovative Engineers (ISIEINDIA).

To learn more about the importance of hands-on training for the youth, specialised courses offered by ISIEINDIA, industry-academia connect, and more, we conversed with Mr Vinod Gupta, Founder and CEO of ISIEINDIA.

Below are a few excerpts from our conversation. You can watch the full video on our YouTube channel.

Journey of ISIEINDIA

Mr. Vinod Gupta said, “We at ISIEINDIA began our journey in 2013 as a non-profit organisation. Strengthening the country’s youth has always been our key focus. In 2013, we began to take steps towards improving mobility; however, we only focused on electric vehicles (EVs).”

“Over 3.5 lakh engineering graduates from India have benefited from our initiatives and got placed in various organisations across the country and eastern countries during the past ten years”, he added.

Addressing the gaps in skill training in the EV sector, Mr Vinod Gupta said, “As the EV market evolves, many opportunities are coming up, but our generation lacks the necessary skills. ISIEINDIA is constantly bridging that kind of gap between industry and academia.”

Importance of hands-on training

“We noticed a need for hands-on training for the online courses we provide for students. As a result, we established a centre of excellence in collaboration with other universities, institutes, and the state government. After completing the online courses, our students can come to our centres and receive real-time training on software and various kinds of exclusive work ventures by ISIEINDIA,” said Mr Vinod Gupta.

“In this ecosystem, we are not only providing students with the required skills but also producing many more innovations and conducting more research. We developed a driverless bus at one of our centres of excellence, Galgotias University. The 25 students who enrol in our programs designed and created the bus,” he added.

Courses offered at ISIEINDIA

ISIEINDIA provides some of the courses like:

  • Professional Master Certification: This is a six months program offered for engineering graduates in Electric Vehicle power trade integration.
  • Post Graduation Program (PGP): This is a five-day program for working professionals.

Importance of industry connect.

“Companies such as MG Motor India, Hero MotoCorp Limited, Ola Cabs, Bajaj Auto, Mando Automotive India, and more are also associated with us regarding team upskilling or recruitment. Also, we are helping the industry find skilled engineers because they are prepared to work in the industries and are familiar with some aspects of the sector. ISIEINDIA can bridge that gap for the industry,” said Mr. Vinod Gupta.

Upon discussing the practical training component, Mr. Vinod Gupta said, “There are two ways that the actual valuable element occurs. One is in our centres, located throughout the country and affiliated with industry and academia. We currently have four centres in Maharashtra, two in Kerala, four in Uttar Pradesh, and one in Madhya Pradesh.”
