The Logistics and Supply Chain Management industry is growing at an unprecedented rate in India. This sector plays a vital role in the economic development of the country. The industry employs around 22 million people and is predicted to add an additional 1.2 million by 2025. However, there is a significant skills gap in the industry, with a pronounced shortage of skilled professionals.

The shortage of skilled professionals is caused by the fact that most academic programs prepare students with a solid theoretical understanding of the subjects but do not expose them to the practical aspects of the industry. As a result, many graduates lack practical knowledge that can be applied on the job and are considered “less job ready” by their employers.

Bridging the skill gap to develop a potentially skilled workforce for the future and upskilling present employees is critical for India’s Logistics and Supply Chain Management industry.

How Avaan Intellect is bridging the skill gap in the Indian Logistics and Supply Chain Management industry

Avaan Intellect, one of India’s leading training and skill development platforms, is working towards bridging the skills gap in the Logistics and Supply Chain Management industry by providing high-quality education and training to students. The goal is to make graduates more employment-ready with experiential learning using case studies and visual demonstrations. This will help students convert their theoretical knowledge to practical knowledge and fare better in job interviews.

Industry-relevant courses: One of the ways in which Avaan Intellect is addressing the skills gap is by offering industry-relevant courses. These courses are mostly contemporary and designed to provide students with the knowledge and skills that are relevant to the Logistics and Supply Chain Management industry. The curriculum is regularly updated to reflect the latest trends and challenges in the industry, ensuring that students are well-prepared to face the challenges of the industry and contribute to its growth.

Hands-on practical training: The platform provides hands-on training to students which is essential for the students to develop practical knowledge. They offer practical experience and exposure with the help of the latest tools and technologies used in the Logistics and Supply Chain Management industry. In universities/institutions, where Avaan Intellect is involved in end-to-end teaching programmes like, one year / two years PGDM program in LSCM, Avaan Intellect can assist the designated students in their respective “Internship Programmes ” by closely monitoring their internship activities in association with the organization, so as to undertake any relevant research activities with the sole objective of building academia-industry interface.

Technology-enabled learning: Apart from the hands-on training, technology-enabled learning is another strong aspect of the courses offered by Avaan Intellect. The online learning platform is designed to be accessible from anywhere, at any time, making education more convenient and accessible for students. It uses modern tools and techniques like virtual classrooms and webinars to provide interactive learning experiences.

Avaan Intellect

Strong industry connects:  The learning platform has successfully established a strong connect with the industry by collaborating with leading companies in  Logistics and Supply Chain Management. The collaboration helps to ensure that Avaan Intellect’s courses are demand-driven, relevant and up-to-date with the latest industry trends. It also allows students to get an understanding of industry-relevant skills, which will better prepare them for the future.

Experienced team of trainers: The trainers and experts have three to four decades of experience in all facets of Supply Chain Management. These trainers not only have relevant industry experience but also have a passion for teaching. They are eager to share their experiences and skills with the students for a better life.

Hybrid learning model: Avaan Intellect also has a flexible mode of teaching depending on student needs. They can operate a hybrid model where a portion of the curriculum can be completed online. The focus, however, will be on the student’s understanding of the topic and their ability to apply their learnings on the job.

Scope for corporate training: Along with the skill development courses, the platform also offers upskilling programmes to present corporate employees in the logistics sector. Corporate training can be customized to suit the needs of the organization in terms of subject knowledge, practical skills, and experience so that the employees can be continuously upskilled, and new employees can be onboarded quickly. The Avaan team is built of leaders who have handled large teams of well-qualified professionals and are capable of adequately counseling employees in corporations.

Learning Management Systems – Avaan utilizes Learning Management Systems (LMS) as a part of its teaching approach to effectively impart and reinforce learning. This is achieved by continuously assessing and reinforcing what has been taught. Students are motivated to complete their assessments before moving on to the next session. This methodology ensures that learning is comprehensive and thorough.

Avaan’s Learning Management System (LMS) is designed to evaluate and assess students’ strengths and weaknesses after each session. Their goal is to provide end-to-end competency in Logistics and Supply Chain Management (LSCM), and this is achieved by monitoring the progress of each student over time. This way, we can identify and address any areas of weakness, and reinforce their strengths to ensure comprehensive and effective learning.

Apart from the skilling and upskilling courses, the platform also helps students in understanding their personalities and deciding the right career path for them. And their Academic Outsourcing and Knowledge Partnering programme provides strategic partnerships with Universities/Colleges as knowledge partners, with a focus on providing education and skill-based training in the areas of Logistics, Supply Chain, and Leadership management. The unique programme aims to offer colleges and universities access to the extensive experience of Avaan Intellect’s industry veterans. By providing high-quality education and training, Avaan Intellect is helping to bridge the skills gap and meet the needs of the industry. The experiential learning approach will not only make students more employment ready but also enhance their career prospects in the Logistics and Supply Chain Management industry.

Nice to see your initiative in improving logistics component of supply chain. I am a visiting faculty teaching optimisation techniques in B-schools in Mumbai and Pune and have prepared cases on Indian environment..I teach the subject using these cases giving emphasis on building algebraic model, which is most difficult part in finding solution, and common part irrespective which software tool is used to find solution… whether Frontline Solver or Palisade Decision Tool… Wishing you great success in your efforts…
