The search for India’s most talented youth in vocational education and skill development has officially begun. Registrations for IndiaSkills Competition 2025, the country’s largest skill-based competition, are now open. Spearheaded by the Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship (MSDE), this biennial event serves as a prestigious platform to identify, nurture, and celebrate the skills of India’s youth.

This edition of the competition covers 63 skill categories, ranging from traditional trades to advanced technologies. Youth from all 36 States and Union Territories are eligible to participate by registering through the Skill India Digital Hub (SIDH) portal. The last date for registration is 30th September 2025.

The IndiaSkills Competition is not only a celebration of talent but also a gateway for participants to represent India at global stages, including the WorldSkills Competition (WSC) 2026, the world’s biggest skills event that features over 60 skills. It aims to promote a culture of excellence in vocational education and raise awareness of skilled careers as viable and prestigious professional pathways.

Who can participate?

The competition is open to Indian nationals who meet the following age criteria:

  • For select high-tech skills (e.g., Cyber Security, Mechatronics, Aircraft Maintenance): Born on or after January 1, 2001.

Two-track selection process

IndiaSkills 2025 follows a multi-tiered selection process to ensure wide outreach and participation.

  • Track II is driven by Sector Skill Councils (SSCs) for skills not taken up by the respective states or UTs.
