Neha hails from a poor suburb of Delhi, has four siblings, and the only income being uncertain tailoring orders for her father. She completed her 12th board exams and was looking for a job that could help her support her family of 6. The Customer Service Associate course teaches basics of interacting with customers, demonstrating products, display and arrangement of products along with practical training on EPOS, etc.
The 60 day course includes yoga, spoken English and soft skills training for the overall development of the candidate.She has been happy about the course and her subsequent placement. She can now support her family and the dependence on her father’s seasonal job is reduced. Her main challenge was to convince her family to let her enrol in the course. She is currently working as a Sales Executive at the BATA store in Malaviya Nagar at a monthly salary of Rs. 17000/-.
Kilaka Singhu, Photography and Videography course, AP, GMRVF
Kilaka Singhu, belongs to a poor tribal family from Vizianagaram district, AP. The candidate is trained about the basic aspects of photography and how to handle a camera and its accessories. The candidates are also taught about light and backgrounds in the process of photography and videography. A module on entrepreneurship is also included along with yoga and motivational classes.
Kilaku is a huge inspiration to young children and youths in his community, who look up to him as role model. His primary challenge was to get information about the course and awareness about skill training as a whole on completing the course, the candidate confidently applied to State Bank of India for a loan of Rs.60,000/- and started a Photo Studio and Xerox Centre in Kurupam town. He was able to repay the loan quickly and now earns more than Rs.12000/- per month.
