Bhartiya Skill Development University (BSDU) partners Hero Motocorp Ltd to set up Centre of Excellence in skill-based training and education. The main objective of the MoU is to facilitate training of trainers, training of students in the field of two-wheeler technologies, and will also assist internships and placements of B.Voc students. The MoU was signed on 15th November 2018 at Jaipur.
The Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed both by Dr. (Brig.) Surjit Singh Pabla, President, Bhartiya Skill Development University (BSDU) and Mr. Vijay Sethi, Head Corporate Social Responsibility and Chief Human Resource Officer – Hero MotoCorp this month in New Delhi. Mr. Mohanjit Singh Walia, Principal, School of Automotive Skill, BSDU was also present on the occasion.
According to Dr. (Brig.) Surjit Singh Pabla, President of BSDU, “The objective of the MoU is to impart training to the students in the emerging area of two wheelers by setting up a state-of-the-art Centre of Excellence in the university premises. As a part of MoU, Hero MotoCorp will facilitate training of trainers, training of students in the field of two wheeler technologies, and will also assist internships and placements of B.Voc students.”

Mr. Mohanjit Singh Walia, Principal, School of Automotive Skills – BSDU says, “Indian auto industry is one of the largest in the world and it contributes highly in national GDP as well. In 2017, India overtook China to emerge as a global leader in the two-wheelers market. India produced a total of 19.9 million two-wheeler vehicles, followed by China at 14.3 million units. With this huge market, there comes requirement of skilled people who can deploy to service & maintenance department in various industries or with proficiency, they can start their own entrepreneurial venture. Now with this new MoU with Hero MotoCorp, we aspire to provide students training with world-class Center of Excellence where students will have access to the best machines and quality apprenticeship programs with world’s number one two wheeler manufacturer.”
It may also be noted that a Centre of Excellence (CoE) has already been established at University Campus by Daikin Air-conditioning India Private Ltd. for HVAC & R Training with fully equipped air conditioning labs that has separate machines for students to learn different processes for air conditioning like vapor absorption, cooling towers, central air-conditioning machine, cold storage, multi-evaporator refrigeration, recirculation air conditioning, etc.
