- Ministry for Commerce and Industry reviews Mumbai developmental projects, announces a Centre of Excellence for Skill Development to be created in PPP mode, inaugurates PLASTINDIA 2026, and train 10,000 youth in three years.
- NxtWave, in partnership with NSDC, launched ‘NxtWave SkillUp India 4.0’ to upskill over 30 lakh students in AI, ML, and Full Stack Development.
- The Greater Noida authority has partnered with NSDC to establish a skill center aimed at training and employing thousands of youths from local villages.
- NCVET grants Awarding Body recognition to NIWE, FDDI, and Divya Yog Mandir Trust, providing them to assess and certify learners at their training centers.
- MSDE hosted an industry consultation to enhance ITIs across India, discussing updates to courses and collaboration, following the “PM’s Package for Employment and Skilling” announced in the Union Budget 2024.

- GRSE wins two CSR Times Awards 2024 for excellence in healthcare and skill development initiatives.
- Weavers certified under PMKVY Short Term Training scheme at North Eastern Handloom & Handicraft Development Corporation (NEHHDC) center in Wokha on August 21, 2024.
- Chitkara University, Punjab, hosted a two-day CBSE Exposure Visit, offering insights into educational innovations and school education practices.
- Hindustan Coca-Cola Beverages partnered with APSSDC to train 5,000 youths in sales and marketing across seven Andhra Pradesh districts.
- PARAKH, a unit of NCERT proposed a new assessment model to standardize board evaluations across India including class 9th to 11th marks in class 12 results.
- The government will soon launch a pilot scheme to train 14-18-year-old girls in non-traditional job roles across 27 districts, aiming to boost women’s participation in the labor force.
- NIIT Foundation’s NReach initiative impacted nearly 93,000 beneficiaries in FY24 by partnering with over 110 NGOs and establishing 400 centers across 27 states.
- NALCO and the Indian Iron & Steel Sector Skill Council signed an MoU under the Skill India Initiative to establish a Recognition of Prior Learning system.
- Tata Steel Foundation and Tata Motors signed a non-financial MoA to provide industrial exposure and skill development for ITI students at Tata Motors’ Jamshedpur facility.
- The Telangana government plans to train 50,000 individuals over four years and facilitate bank loans for small industries to improve workforce skills and district-level service access.
- Nine students from Karnataka will represent India at the 47th World Skills Competition in Lyon, France, with five from Bengaluru and four from other districts.
- Uttar Pradesh Board schools will introduce vocational education for classes 6 to 12, equipping students with essential skills in line with NEP 2020 and the National Credit Framework (NCrF).
- The Tourism & Hospitality Skill Council signed a $1 million MoU with Visa to upskill 20,000 Indian youths in tourism skills over the next three years.
- CBSE and ISTM have signed an MoU for a 2-day Training of Trainers (ToT) Certification Course, aligning with NEP 2020’s mandate for continuous professional development
- Nalco and IISSSC sign MoU to enhance workforce skills through NSQF-based RPL programs and certification under the Skill India Initiative.
- TeamLease Degree Apprenticeship hosted a leadership discussion focusing on leveraging apprenticeships for strategic business growth beyond compliance.
- Tata Steel Foundation and Tata Motors signed a MoU to provide ITI students with industrial exposure and skill development at Tata Motors’ Jamshedpur facility.

- Dell Technologies will offer a GenAI Foundations course and certification to the first 250 registrants at its September forums in Mumbai and Bangalore.
- NSDC has invited Request for Proposal (RFP) for Empanelment of Sending Organization (SOs) in India for Japan’s Technical Intern Training Program (TITP).
