  • NSDC, IIT Ropar and Masai School have collaborated to launch certified minor program in Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning to deliver transformative educational experience for professionals.
  • Twelve government inter colleges and 50 govt-aided schools in Uttar Pradesh to introduce 13 vocational training courses for students form classes 9 to 12.
  • Toyota Technical Training Institute (TTTI) in Karnataka is now accepting applications for its 2024-2025 programs, offering three-year and two-year residential courses for students to develop skills for the manufacturing industry.

Nasscom Foundation is inviting proposals from Non-profit or For-profit organizations to support the mobilization, training, and placement of underprivileged youth in technical and soft skills, aiming to provide employment opportunities in the mainstream IT and Banking sectors. Stakeholder collaboration – Industry, Academia and Government

  • Don Bosco Private ITI in Chinchwad, India, has launched an electric vehicle training lab in collaboration with Schaeffler India and Don Bosco Kurla to equip youth with essential technical skills for the growing EV sector.
  • Karnataka State Open University (KSOU) signed an MoU with Karnataka State Dr Gangubhai Hanagal Music and Performing Arts (KSGHMPA) University to expand academic activities and share resources.
  • The India Employment Report 2024 highlights “paradoxical improvements” in labour market indicators amid economic distress, reversing a long-term decline from 2000-2019.
  • Classes 9 and 10 vocational students from Kahilipara High School, Guwahati, visited a reputed city hotel for practical training in banquet management, room service, Japanese table etiquette, and various aspects of tourism and hospitality.
  • Experts emphasize that thematic hubs and skill development are crucial for India’s National Quantum Mission to leverage quantum technology’s transformative potential and gain a global competitive edge.
  • Mahadevi Birla World Academy opens a fashion studies lab to provide four months of vocational training and improve employability for girls from the NGO Ek Tara.
  • The Automotive Skill Development Council (ASDC) participated in India Skills 2024 at Yashobhoomi, showcasing and nurturing vocational talent in the automotive sector with industry experts and jury members.
  • The demand for skilled blue-collar workers from India in the UAE increased by 25% from May 2023 to April 2024, particularly in technology, healthcare, and construction sectors, as per a report by Huntr.
