TSSC launches telecom center of excellence

On 18th July 2016, Telecom Sector Skill Council (TSSC) and Cognitel inaugurated Telecom Center of excellence at Gurgaon facility of Cognitel. This is a path breaking effort for the Telecom Sector, which will create 7.6 million job opportunities over next 5 years as per industry estimates.

The state of art facility was dedicated to the sector and public at large during the inauguration ceremony in presence of eminent personalities, media teams and Lt. Gen Dr. S.P Kochhar (CEO TSSC) and Mr. Rajeev Kabra (CEO Cognitel).

Telecom sector skill center of excellenceOn the occasion Lt. Gen Kochhar said ” telecom is serious business requiring huge investments and training organizations like Cognitel were doing an excellent job by coming forward with both investments and initiatives to facilitate better learning for the sector. Cognitel will be the first such Centre of Excellence for human resource skilling in the country for Telecom sector. Our partner, Cognitel will play an important role not only in producing skilled manpower but also proficient entrepreneurs”.

The Chief Executive of Cognitel, Mr. Rajeev Kabra, while addressing media persons, said that his organization was making all efforts to install state- of- art equipment and labs for training. He said that good trainers and good curriculum were the hallmarks of his organization. He stated that Cognitel is providing training to youth in several areas of information and communication technology and youths trained by his organization were getting absorbed in the telecom sector. Several young men have been trained so far and now employed fruitfully”.

Lt.Gen. Kochhar said  that the Council, in collaboration with National Skill Development Corporation (NSDC), has been engaged in producing world class workforce for the information and communication technology sector as this is the need of the hour. Given the ever expanding growth of this sector, need for trained manpower was much more now than ever before. He said the Council had produced scores of competent personnel handling various dimension of information and communication technology. More and more young aspirants were keen to join initiative and take the benefit of world class skilling.

According to Mr. Kabra, the young men and women were primarily getting training through live virtual class rooms giving access to – RF labs, green energy learning, passive infrastructure management, radio access, outdoor antenna lab, ICT lab etc.
