“I am really fortunate to be born as a woman as I believe every woman is a nourisher. That’s why perhaps I chose teaching and training as my profession. I also believe in “If you share knowledge it grows”.
I am from a family of teachers and intellectuals. My father, late shri. Suryanarayana Shastri and my uncle, late Shri. Shankar Narayana Shastri were teachers of par excellence. My passion for teaching and training took shape right from a young age, when I was asked to observe many things around me. Be it people, things, events I learn from each of them.
I am 46 years young longing for another 2-3 decades of educational service to my great nation INDIA .
My educational qualification is: Academic : M.Sc., B.Ed., and myTechnical Qualification is Cambridge langauage and Class room Management Certification.
I am pursuing ISTD diploma in training and development from new Delhi and my project mentor is Shri. Eashwer Murthi at CEO skill foundations private limited. I am serving as a trainer under the auspices of TATA Institute of Social Science’s School of Vocational Education’s B.Voc program at Chennai in English and Communication.
The transition from schools to colleges and then to corporates is the hall mark of my success which gave me a chance to continuously upgrade and improve my skills. Interacting with students, other faculties , corporate leaders , corporate trainees and experienced staff members has contributed to my progress .
Today I am a visiting Faculty to many corporate companies under the banner of B Voc to share my knowledge and skills to support all the learners using various training tools and kits .
Getting into corporate training was a challenge first which I overcome by understanding the actual training needs of the organization and also gauging the entry level capabilities with which we need to build their skills . The tailor-made programs for each corporate was a real learning on adaptability, creativity and flexibility. Today I am capable of designing, developing and delivering useful training programs in my areas of expertise and able to set up a learning atmosphere amidst the participants thus giving value to their time spent and efforts taken .
In a nutshell , I am extremely happy to be in this profession which gives me immense satisfaction through my achievements as well as getting a sense of service. This balance leads to a stronger mental health which gives me the strength and stamina to be a good mother to my two daughters by guiding them in the right directions and values. I cannot forget the support and guidance that I got from my husband without which I would not have grown and progressed.”
