950 job offers handed over at THSC and UPSDM Mega Job Fair at Lucknow

Tourism and Hospitality Skill Council (THSC) has been continuously playing a major role in providing the industry with skilled workforce. THSC caters to all the sub sectors of the Industry, such as Hotels, Tour Operators, Food Service Restaurants, Facilities Management and Cruise Liners. It has the responsibility of providing a sustainable and strong eco-system for the development of skills in the industry.

THSC and Uttar Pradesh Skill Development Mission (UPSDM) held a Mega Job Fair on 9th February 2018 at ITI campus, Aliganj, Lucknow for providing youth with career opportunities in the tourism and hospitality sector. 950 job offers and opportunities were made available and distributed at this event. This event was supported by National Skill Development Corporation (NSDC) under the guidance of Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship (MSDE).

15 leading brands such as  Taj Hotels, Lemon Tree, Radisson, Sarovar, Citrus, Mocha – Café & Bar, Downtown, Manhattan, Bronx & Fantom, Lite bites, KFC, Pizza Hut, Sodexo, PVR, Jubilant, Mahindra Holidays and Resorts, Barbeque Nation participated in this job fair and a total of over 1500 jobs were open for the youth. From Entry level jobs to supervisory level jobs, a range of jobs were available.  There was job aggregation for ITI skilled candidates for Plumbing and electricians as well. Companies offered Full Time, Part Time and Apprenticeships to candidates.

THSC UPSDM Job Fair Lucknow 1There was a great strength of show by the candidates. Candidates over 1300 in number attended the job fair, hailing not just from Lucknow, but from Allahabad, Kanpur, Jhansi, Agra, Gwalior, and across UP to participate in the Mega event. ITI candidates and candidates from Ministry of Tourism programs/colleges also participated.

This very successful Mega Job Fair in Lucknow will make way for more job fairs for the youth in UP. Mr. Pranjal Yadav, UPSDM Mission Director (IAS) and Dr. Sonali Sinha, COO, pledged a deeper collaboration and more such result-oriented events for the youth of UP in the near future.

A special mention should be made of Mr.D.K Verma(Dy.Dir), Mr. Karunesh Sinha (Asst.Dir), Mr. Devendra Tiwari (Mgr. Placement), Mr. S.C Tiwari, (JD, ITI, Aliganj), Mr.Satra Kant (Principal ITI) and team members along with volunteers, who contributed to the success of the event, through their tireless efforts by operationally and logistically managing the day.

This job fair was in alignment with the Skill India Mission. THSC is committed towards providing the industry its required skilled workforce, and skilled youth opportunities for numerous jobs and self-employment through platforms like Campus Placements, Job Fairs and their digital portal https://thsc.skillgrid.in
