The Governing Council of Automotive Skills Development Council (ASDC) re-elects Mr. Nikunj Sanghi as Chairman

Automotive Skills Development council held its 8th Annual General Meeting (AGM) on 3rd October in New Delhi. The meeting concluded with some important developments and the announcement of the office bearers.

The Executive Committee of the ASDC, the apex body of skill development for the auto sector, has re-elected Mr. Nikunj Sanghi as Chairman for the 2019-20. The then Director General of SIAM, Mr. Vishnu Mathur, SIAM, Mr. Vinnie Mehta, Director General, ACMA and Mr. Saharsh Damani, CEO, FADA strongly recommended that Mr. Nikunj Sanghi should continue as chairman of ASDC, taking into consideration his tremendous contributions to the industry. Mr Sanghi is the Managing Director, J S Four Wheel Motors Pvt Ltd. Mr. Kenichi Ayukawa, CEO, Maruti Suzuki was retained as Vice Chairman of ASDC, and Mr. F.R. Singhvi, Joint Managing Director, Sansera Technologies was retained as the Treasurer for ASDC.

The Governing Council of Automotive Skills Development Council (ASDC) re-elects Mr. Nikunj Sanghi as ChairmanASDC AGM was attended by key members from the automotive industry, including manufacturers and industry bodies’ representatives. Extensive discussions and deliberations were organised on the work done during the past year and the way forward for the next year, which allowed ASDC to build a deeper connection with the industry.

For the year 2019-20, the nominated members to the Governing Council are Mr. Nikunj Sanghi, Chairman, ASDC, Mr. Vinkesh Gulati, Vice-President, FADA, Mr Ashish Harsharaj Kale, President, FADA, Mr. Sunjay Kapur, Vice-President, ACMA, Mr. F R Singhvi, Joint Managing Director, Sansera Engineering Pvt. Ltd., Mr. Arvind Goel, MD & CEO, Tata AutoComp Systems, Mr. Rama Shankar Pandey, MD, Hella India Lighting Ltd., Mr. Vinnie Mehta, Director General, ACMA, Mr. Rajesh Menon, Director General Designate, SIAM, Shri Paresh Kumar Goel, Director (Transport), Ministry of Road Transport and Highways (MoRTH), Shri Pravin L Agrawal, JS(Auto) DHI, Smt. Ritu Pande, Director(Auto), DHI, MOHI, Shri R K Jaiswal, DO, DHI, Mr. Kenichi Ayukawa, Vice President, SIAM and CEO, Maruti Suzuki, Mr. N V Balachandar, President -HR Communication & CSR, Ashok Leyland, Mr. A K Tomer, Executive Advisor, Corporate Planning, Maruti Suzuki, Mr. Atsunori Komiei, Sr Vice President, Toyota Kirloskar Motor India Private Limited, Mr. Vijay Sethi, CIO & Head –CSR, Hero MotoCorp Ltd., and special invitees Mr Bimal Kumar, TMA, Mr. Ritesh Mantri, Co-Founder & Executive Director, Kinetic Green Energy & Power Solutions Limited and Mr Sohinder Gill, Global CEO, Hero Electric Vehicles Private Ltd.

About ASDC

Automotive Skill Development Corporation (ASDC) is the first sector skill council set up by NSDC to oversee the regulation of skill development initiatives within automotive industry. ASDC aims to skill and certify 25 million youth in a period of next 10 years. Automotive Skills Development Council is a joint initiative of Government of India, Society of Indian Automobile Manufacturers (SIAM), Automotive Component Manufacturers Association (ACMA) and Federation of Automobile Dealers Associations (FADA).
