TCS iON, a strategic unit of Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) and global kids and family entertainment major Toonz Media Group having animation studios in India and abroad are coming together to provide online blended courses to learners and cater to the growing demand for skilled workforce in the AVGC sector.
There is exponential growth in the AVGC sector in India as the country is emerging as a primary destination for high-end, skill-based activities. This in turn has created a growing demand for a skilled workforce. With the industry’s demand for skilled workforce increasing rapidly, industry leaders have now got the huge opportunity and responsibility to offer job-oriented courses.
To realise the full potential of the industry and cater to its growing demand, TCS iON and Toonz Media Group have joined hands to offer two courses – Graphic Design Professional and Motion Graphics Professional Programmes.
These courses are designed to make learners industry-ready with industry-relevant skills necessary to make a successful career in the AVGC sector. Through these courses, learners will have the opportunity to learn from industry experts anytime anywhere and get 50+ hours of extensive hands-on practice as well. They will also get internship opportunities and get a digital certificate at the end of the course.
Growth of the AVGC Sector in India
With a vision to capture the full potential of the AVGC sector in India and unlock its benefits, the AVGC Task Force was constituted under the leadership of Shri Apurva Chandra, Secretary, of the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting.
Today, India contributes about $2.5Â-3 billion out of the estimated $260-275 billion to the worldwide AVGC market. The AVGC sector in India is also expected to witness a growth of 14-16 per cent in the next decade, according to the AVGC Task Force report ‘Realising AVGC-XR Sector Potential in India.
The creation of the AVGC ecosystem within the country requires a workforce with specialized skills for various roles such as Graphic designers, Motion Graphic Designers, Animators, Developers, Localization experts, etc. However, at present, the system at the school, college and university levels do not have a dedicated curriculum focused on AVGC. Therefore, one of the key recommendations of the Task Force report was to offer skill-based courses as a part of general and vocational education.
Against this backdrop, the industry-aligned courses offered by TCS iON and Toonz Media Group will prepare the learners with the know-how of graphic design and motion graphics and provide them with the right opportunity to become industry-ready professionals by enhancing their creative abilities.
