Pink Collars initiative from Mahindra & Mahindra to recruit women technicians in their workshops
With a drive named “Pink Collars”, Mahindra & Mahindra started an initiative to promote the recruitment of women in core productive roles at automobile workshops. Mahindra kicked off the first batch of Pink Collars in October 2018 and trained 22 girl students selected from various ITIs in districts of western Maharashtra at the Mahindra Institute of Learning Excellence (MILE), Igatpuri. At this high-tech training center, they underwent a free-of-cost 10-day residential training program that brushed up their basics in theory and imparted practical skill development in automotive service and repair. Kemppi’s National Best Welder competitions catalyze new professional avenues for women in welding
The National Best Welder Competition, Season 2 – Finals was held in Chennai on 6th December 2019. The participants took part in two categories of competitions – one for working women and the other for students. Kemppi India and Nextgen Plasma in association with the Indian Institute of Welding (IIW) organized the National Level Welding Competitions for women in Best Structural Welder, Best Pipe Welder, and Best Student Welder.
