2019 Year in review – NSDC partnerships: Focus on future skills and future jobs

Each sector and each industry has a valuable role to play in the development of the country. With growing complexities in the society, anyone one sector like government, business, civil society or academia will not be able to handle it alone. Therefore, we must look at collaborations and partnerships to bring in transformation and to see the impact we wish to achieve. We must develop new approaches to partnering that go beyond philanthropy, towards generating shared value.

As the year 2020 is just around the corner, we would like all of us to look back at some of the landmark partnerships that took place in the year 2019 in the domain of skill development and vocational training, to train the Indian youth future jobs and future workplaces.

NSDC partners Renault-Nissan Alliance in India to upskill workforce for future technologies

Keeping upskilling and reskilling of their workforce as a crucial part of the strategy for India, Renault-Nissan Alliance signed an MoU with NSDC. To prepare a future-ready workforce in the automotive industry, Renault-Nissan Alliance India will train its workforce in the Alliance plant for future technologies. Read more

NSDC partners UAE’s Emirates Driving Institute (EDI) and Youth Chamber of Commerce (YCC) to set up International Driver Training Institutes in India

The partnership between NSDC and Emirates Driving Institute aims to address the need for high-quality drivers in UAE and other countries in the Middle East. It will facilitate the candidates to acquire a UAE driving license, in line with the requirements of UAE’s Roads and Transport agencies and regulatory agencies of other parts of the Middle East. Directorate General of Training  (DGT) partners Cisco and Accenture to set up a future-ready employability skilling program for ITI students

DGT under the aegis of MSDE got into a partnership with two big private companies Cisco and Accenture to roll out a comprehensive future-ready employability skilling program for ITI students. Nearly 15,00,000 students across all the ITIs in India can access the digital learning module via the Bharat Skills portal. Read more

NSDC-UNEVOC center was launched in March 2019. The UNEVOC Network is UNESCO’s global network for institutions specialized in Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET). Members of the UNEVOC Network, called UNEVOC Centres, all have a position within their country that allows them to cooperate with other TVET stakeholders, both nationally and internationally and engage in a variety of activities. EHL Advisory Services partners NSDC to promote global standards of skilling in the Hospitality Sector

The collaboration between NSDC and EHL Advisory Services will provide aspiring hospitality professionals an opportunity to get convenient access to Swiss Hospitality Vocational level qualifications in India.  Read more
