We have largest number of workforce but unless we provide skill to our workforce they cannot become employable and these kinds of training institutes are doing the thing needed today.” Skill India has been quite close to the President’s heart. Most of the employees in President House are trained and certified under Skill India initiative.”

Driver training is an important sector for skill development, which not only leads to employment but also enhances road safety and economic progress of the nation. In the coming years, the Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship in partnership with NSDC, local partners and the State government will strive it best, to provide effective driving training and up-gradation of skills of existing drivers, highlighting issues such as road etiquettes and imbibing its trainees with advanced driving skills.

Jharkhand is rapidly gaining recognition for its auto and auto components industry. The sector employs around 70,000 people in the state and contributes roughly 7% to India’s GDP, with scope for exponential growth. Also, Jharkhand’s auto industry is linked to the mining and metals, coal for the raw material for the various sectors which create the demand for the skill driving centre.

The launch of 35 multi-skill Pradhan Mantri Kaushal Kendras (PMKK) is a historical move as it will cater to needs of youngsters from Jharkhand, Madhya Pradesh, Bihar, Assam, West Bengal, Odisha, Rajasthan, J&K, Telangana, Karnataka, Chhatisgarh, Haryana, and Uttar Pradesh. These Kaushal Kendras will be a model centres for training and skilling youths to make them employable. The Grand National Skill Exhibition in the State has begun on April 2, 2017. Youth from the State can visit the Mahotsav and witness the exhibition showcasing some of the exemplary work that has been done in the skill development space.

More than 20 sectors under MSDE, will be seen coming together and sharing possibilities of career progression in the Kaushal Shivirs and also will be setting up Kaushal Rozgaar on spot interactions and interviews to extend employment opportunities to the youth of Jharkhand. The Ministry will also set up camps to undertake the Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL program), which is a component of Pradhan Mantri Kaushal Vikas Yojana (PMKVY) of the government, in certain trades recognising and certifying existing skill sets of the people.
