Romi Lara, Trainer

OR_TR_ROMI_LARARomi Lara is from Tezpur, a beautiful town from Assam and has done her schooling from Sacred Heart School. She completed her B. Com with Management Honors from Darrang College (Tezpur).

After that she completed her MBA with HR & Marketing specialization from ASSAM INSTITUTE OF MANAGEMENT. She is concerned about her family and always believes that every bit of knowledge and courtesy comes from the roots where you belong. She is not only an optimistic and culturally inclined person but is always very fond of socializing and travelling to different places.

Apart from family and professional life, she is very active socially. She has visited different places for a social cause like the ‘Amar Ghar, an old age home, Snehalaya, an orphanage and Ashayein, a drug rehabilitation center’.

She is a Certified Trainer from Orion Edutech in collaboration with NSDC. She did TOT (Training of Trainers) program for 3 days where she learnt the responsibilities of a trainer. She realized the role ad responsibilities of trainers in shaping a trainee’s life. Her career started as a trainer with B-ABLE. Thereafter, Orion Edutech has provided her a significant and variant job profile. Currently she is an English Communication & Soft Skills Trainer in the Hatigaon (Guwahati) center. It gives her immense pleasure to be associated with the Training and Development department of this esteemed organization for almost 2 years.

Challenges in the role of a Trainer: Each day is a new challenge for her. She has to provide training to students from remote villages, belonging to varied economic backgrounds. It’s a tough job to train them within two months and make them ready for jobs. Developing their basic communication skills needs continuous effort and guidance from her end. She believes in imparting training to her students by making it fun.

Motivation to take up the role trainer: Romi thinks that, the educational institutions need to equip the students with basic skills that are required to meet the global standards of the job industry. “The knowledge you have is delivered through the skills you possess.” Orion Edutech has also provided her a platform to inculcate the right skills to her trainees. She was awarded as The Best Trainer award, which has motivated her further to work hard. She is a strong, mature and positive woman.

Her Message to the Trainees:  She tells her students that they need not copy, follow or imitate the trainers but develop on their own and become independent.
