NSDC partners Amazon India to launch combat COVID-19 digital campaign: NSDC has launched “Fight Against COVID-19 #AwareIndiaSafeIndia; Digital Campaign” in partnership with Amazon India. The campaign will create awareness using digital platforms and online community engagement.

Online training for 2.79 lakh ITI students: 2.79 lakh students of 117 government-run ITIs in Chandigarh have taken online classes amid the lockdown. The online classes were organized by Directorate of Technical Education and Industrial Training

ITI students make masks for COVID-19 warriors: Over 2,000 girl students of various Industrial Training Institutes (ITIs) in Punjab are producing free masks for the frontline warriors fighting the pandemic. They have made 2.23 lakh four-layered, washable masks from home in the past two weeks.

900 certified plumbers to provide essential services during pandemic: A database of 900 certified plumbers has been created by the Indian Plumbing Skills Council (IPSC) to address the need for essential services like plumbing during the ongoing COVID 19 crisis. Rs 32.97 crore distributed to provide support to the tea industry: The northeastern zonal office of the Tea Board here has disbursed Rs 32.97 crore to its beneficiaries to provide support to the tea industry here during the lockdown. The amount of Rs 32.97 crore has been given to 1,088 beneficiaries.

Mechatronics course by Mercedes-Benz India: The Mechatronics course by Mercedes-Benz India, launched in 2002, is a one-year syllabus. A new Advanced Diploma in Automotive Mechatronics (ADAM) course has been designed by the Mercedes-Benz Global Training Centre and focuses on self-learning methodology.

17 lakh masks produced by Women Self-Help Groups: Women Self-Help Groups in Haryana have made over 17 lakh protective face covers and masks. They have also prepared nearly 13,000 Personal Protection Equipment kits and 35,000 sanitizers of 100 ml each.

UGC invites applications for skill-based courses: UGC has invited applications from institutions of higher learning willing to offer skill-based courses for session 2020-21. Application window is open for skill-based programmes from the forthcoming academic year at the level of Certificate, Diploma, Advanced Diploma, BVoc, PG Diploma, MVoc and Research Degree.
