AP government has allotted Rs 2.5 crore for ITI hostels in Gajuwaka

The new Industrial Training Institute in Gajuwaka Vishakapatnam, will get converted into a full-fledged residential model. The state government of Andhra Pradesh has allotted Rs 2.5 crore for constructing hostels for the ITI. The ITI will also get trade workshop buildings and a training-cum-production centre. All the buildings will also get a facelift.

Girls hostel inaugurated for APPITI in Assam

A girl’s hostel was inaugurated at Rowta, in Assam accommodating 100girls. The hostel has been built to provide accomodation facilities to students of the Amalgamated Plantations Private Industrial Training Institute (APPITI). Assam Investment Fund donated the hostel and constructed it within a record time of 8-months.

Seven new ITIs to be set up in Kerala

The Kerala government will set up seven new Industrial Training Institute (ITIs) in the state, The minister for labour and skill development, T P Ramakrishnan inaugurated the new workshop lab and hostel building of the Kozhikode Government ITI at Malikkadavu. The new ITIs would be set up at Vellamunda in Wayanad, Peelicode and Kuttikkol in Kasaragod, Panniyannur in Kannur Mayyanad in Kollam, Thuravoor in Ernakulam and Varkala in Thiruvananthapuram. The government has already set up nine ITIs during the last two years.

India to soon get Vocational training’ regulator

India is likely to have a separate regulatory agency on ‘vocational training soon’, providing the much-needed boost to the country’s skilling efforts. This new regulator, which may soon get the approval of the government, will attempt to bring “quality enforcement” of various skilling initiatives through the mechanism of regulating the awarding body.

Rs 8.50 cr for ITI in Narnaund, Hisar

Haryana Government has approved about Rs 8.50 crore for the construction of Industrial Training Institute (ITI) at Sisay village in Narnaund assembly constituency of Hisar.

Hyundai Motor India partners ASDC

After having actively collaborated with 45 Industrial Training Institutes (ITIs) and seven polytechnics across the country, Hyundai Motor India today expanded its CSR initiative to collaborate with the Automotive Skills Development Council (ASDC), the joint industry and government initiatives aimed at developing skilled manpower for the Indian automotive industry.

As per the MoU, Hyundai Motor India will be introducing a 50-day training course at six of its new training centres created at its dealerships to train students who are keen to enter the automotive industry and work in the aftersales and service divisions.

Skill India Mission boosted by Ambuja Cements in Rajasthan

In Rajasthan, Ambuja Cements Ltd, which is a part of the global conglomerate LafargeHolcim and is also one of the leading cement manufacturing companies in India, has been successfully spearheading the skill development initiatives to enhance the employability of rural youth, Through its initiatives it has contributed to the Government’s flagship programs ‘Skill India’ and ‘Make in India’. Till date, over 10,000 youngsters have been imparted skill training in the state.

Amway India and with Skill Development Ministry partner to support Skill India mission

To support the government’s ‘Skill India’ initiative, direct selling FMCG Company Amway India signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Retailers Associations Skill Council of India (RASCI) and renewed its partnership for the second year in a row. This MoU will enable Amway to provide free training for upskilling its direct sellers for the second year and help them become entrepreneurs.

Agriculture Skill Council of India accredits HAU training institute

Haryana Agricultural University training institute is now authorised as a centre of Agriculture Skill Council of India (ASCI), and will award certificate/diploma for skill development in 19 different disciplines. The Vice-Chancellor said that in any country special emphasis is given to provide skill development programmes for unemployed youth, farmers and women. Skills and knowledge are two inspirational forces for the economic and social development of the country. A country will progress only when the people, especially young people are healthy, educated and skilled.

CMC Skills’ Mega Skill Centre gets Training Center of the Year Award in Jharkand

The ‘Training Center of the Year’ award was awarded to Mega Skill Centre of CMC Skills by the Jharkhand Government to recognise their outstanding performance in the field of skill development. This programme was organized by Jharkhand Skill Development Mission Society on the eve of the World Youth Skills Day 2018. All the stakeholders of the Skill ecosystem felt a sense of pride for their efforts in Jharkhand.

Government to support unemployed in AP through apprenticeships

According to East Godavari District Collector there are plans underway to encourage apprenticeship for the unemployed youth in the industrial units in a variety of trades to serve the dual purpose of enabling the industries to get quality labour and improving skills among the youth. Addressing the representatives of various industry units at a meeting held at the Collectorate in Kakinada, he said the government is planning to come up with a new policy to encourage apprenticeships in a huge way in the industries by showing its support in paying its share for apprenticeships.
