MU-BEST Centre: Mahindra University and Bajaj Engineering Skills Training Launch Internship-Integrated Programs

Engineering students looking to strengthen their practical skills before graduation now have a new opportunity. Mahindra University, in collaboration with Bajaj Engineering Skills Training (BEST), has launched the MU-BEST Centre, offering two internship-cum-project certification programmes designed to prepare students for careers in advanced manufacturing and embedded systems.

The first batch begins in August 2026, with the centre offering industry-integrated training that combines classroom learning, practical laboratory sessions, live projects and placement support. Whether you are interested in smart manufacturing or embedded systems, the MU-BEST Centre provides an opportunity to gain industry-relevant skills while completing your engineering education.

Internship-integrated programs designed with industry

The MU-BEST Centre has been established through a collaboration between Mahindra University and Bajaj Engineering Skills Training (BEST) to provide engineering students with practical, industry-oriented training. The programmes combine academic learning with hands-on experience, helping students develop skills that are directly relevant to modern engineering roles.

Each program runs for five months and includes more than 560 hours of learning, with 70% practical training and 30% theory. Students will also complete 90 hours of industry-relevant project work under expert guidance.

MU - BEST Centre Industry Integrated Programs

Programs offered at MU-BEST Centre

Advanced Manufacturing (Industry 4.0 and IIoT)

This program is designed for students from:

  • Mechanical Engineering
  • Mechatronics
  • Instrumentation
  • Automotive Engineering
  • Aerospace Engineering

Students will gain practical exposure to:

  • PLC, CNC and automation systems
  • Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT)
  • Smart manufacturing systems
  • Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning applications
  • Computer Vision
  • AR/VR applications in industrial environments

The program includes extensive laboratory training, industry mentoring and project work, preparing students for roles such as Manufacturing Engineer, Automation Engineer and IIoT Engineer.

Firmware Development

The Firmware Development program is intended for students from:

  • Electronics and Communication Engineering (ECE)
  • Electronics and Computation Engineering (ECM)
  • VLSI Design
  • Electronics and Instrumentation Engineering (EIE)
  • Electrical and Electronics Engineering (EEE)
  • Electronics and Telematics Engineering (ETM)

Students will learn:

  • Embedded systems architecture
  • Microcontrollers and RTOS
  • Firmware development lifecycle
  • Hardware-software integration
  • Debugging and testing

The curriculum includes hands-on learning using industry-standard tools and a capstone project based on real-world applications. Career opportunities include Firmware Engineer, Embedded Systems Engineer and IoT Developer.

MU-BEST certification program highlights

The MU-BEST certification program has been designed to provide engineering students with intensive practical training over a period of five months.

Some of the key highlights include:

  • Duration: Five months (August–December 2026)
  • Learning Format: More than 560 hours of training with 70% practical learning and 30% theory
  • Project Experience: Includes 90 hours of industry-relevant project work under expert guidance
  • Program Fee: ₹10,000 for the complete program (accommodation not included)
  • Intake: 60 students each for Advanced Manufacturing and Firmware Development
  • Certification: Participants will receive the BEST Graduate Trainee Engineer certification upon successful completion
  • Placement Support: Students completing the program will receive placement assistance

Who can apply?

The program are open to:

  • 7th semester engineering students
  • Engineering graduates who completed their degree within the last two years

Applicants should have:

  • Minimum CGPA of 6.0
  • No active backlogs
