Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship (MSDE) has announced the launch of Jan Bhagidari initiatives nationwide in a webinar, with over 10,000 institutes and 85,000+ students participating. These initiatives will be undertaken from June 1st to 15th in all skill development institutions and centres. The National Institute of Entrepreneurship and Small Business Development (NIESBUD) conducted a special session on “Creating A Skilled and Atmanirbhar Bharat” as part of the event.
In line with Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi’s vision of making “Jan Bhagidari” a ‘People’s Movement’ during India’s G20 Presidency, various institutions including Industrial Training Institutes (ITIs), Jan Shikshan Sansthan (JSS), Pradhan Mantri Kaushal Kendras (PMKKs), and polytechnics across India will implement these events.
The activities planned include skill hackathons, essay and quiz competitions, skill showcase competitions, and a skill olympiad, all centred around the summit’s theme of Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam or ‘One Earth, One Family, One Future’.
Additionally, there will be a webinar series on new-age courses, training of trainers, digital courses, skill masterclasses, career counselling sessions, expert lectures by industry speakers, and apprenticeship awareness workshops. These initiatives aim to raise awareness about the future of work, the green economy, and the importance of lifelong learning.
During the webinar, Shri Atul Kumar Tiwari, Secretary of the Ministry of Skill Development & Entrepreneurship, emphasized the importance of people’s participation in Jan Bhagidari events, as highlighted by Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi. The objective of today’s webinar was to create awareness and encourage public participation and ownership in India’s G20 Presidency. The MSDE aims to foster a mindset of becoming job creators rather than job seekers within the skill ecosystem. The ministry looks forward to meaningful discussions with valuable partners during the G20 4th Education Working Group Meeting.
