MHRD and MESC partner to conduct Manthan – A workshop for colleges and universities

Industry academia collaboration plays a crucial role in the success of any work-integrated learning or job-oriented skilling program. To meet the demand for the skilled workforce for the industry and to integrate employability to education, the Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD), Government of India, have been promoting skill oriented BSc, BBA and B.Voc courses across Degree Colleges in the country in collaboration with various Sector Skill Councils of the NSDC.  MHRD and Media & Entertainment Sector Skill Council (MESC) partner to conduct Manthan – A workshop for colleges and universities at Ramoji Film City, Hyderabad

The Ministry has been working with the Media & Entertainment Sector Skill Council (MESC), and 4 – 5 specialized, employment- oriented BSc courses have been developed in Animation, Graphics, Gaming, VFX, Film Making etc., which will provide the students with complete and in-depth knowledge in their chosen trades and equip them with job ready skills. The universities concerned are empowered to take up these courses through their colleges, autonomous colleges are readily empowered and other colleges can take up these courses with their university approval.

In order to familiarize the colleges and universities with the details of the courses on offer and also highlight special features, relevance and the modalities, a workshop will be held in Ramoji Film City, Hyderabad on 23rd September, 2019 from 10.30AM onwards, and would be followed in the afternoon with a visit to the various facilities in Ramoji Film City.

Shri Ramesh Sippy, renowned Film Producer and Director, would be the Chief Guest, along with other speakers such as Mrs. Kiran Sippy – Actress and MD RSACE, Mr. V.L.V.S.S Subba Rao, Senior Economic Advisor, MHRD, New Delhi, Mr. Manvendra Shukul – CEO, Lakshya Digital Studio, Mr. Pete Draper – Co-founder Makuta VFX, Mr. Mohit Soni – CEO MESC and Sathish Narayanan Chief Expert World Skills India.

Representatives from Media and Entertainment Sector would be addressing the gathering to brief them about the skills of the sector and potential. The tentative agenda is attached along with the letter from MHRD.
