The Centre of Logistics Training for Excellence (COLTE) at NSTI Hyderabad was officially inaugurated by Shri Jayant Chaudhary, Honorable Minister of State (Independent Charge) for Skill Development & Entrepreneurship and Minister of State for Education. The launch marks a major step forward for India’s technology-driven skilling ecosystem.

The centre has been established by the Redington Foundation, the CSR arm of Redington Limited, in partnership with the Logistics Sector Skill Council (LSC). It builds on the strong success of the Chennai model, which is now recognized as a benchmark in modern logistics skilling.

COLTE Hyderabad Inaugurated at NSTI A Joint Initiative by Redington Foundation and LSC to Shape India’s Logistics Workforce

A leap forward for logistics skilling in India

During his address, Shri Jayant Chaudhary emphasized that India’s logistics sector is entering a “high-growth decade,” fuelled by the National Logistics Policy and PM Gati Shakti. He highlighted a critical need for a modern, future-ready workforce, noting that even advanced ecosystems like Germany require thousands of skilled workers; illustrating the global demand for logistics talent.

He stressed that centres like COLTE represent the next generation of logistics skilling; technology-enabled, industry-shaped, sharply aligned to real operational needs, and crucial for building India’s competitiveness.

Tech-led, simulation-based training for job-ready talent

The Hyderabad centre features advanced simulation labs, digital learning tools, and an Industry 4.0–driven curriculum. These learning environments are designed to prepare candidates for in-demand roles such as:

  • EXIM Associate
  • Warehouse Associate Executive
  • Supply Chain Executive
  • Forklift Operator
  • And other emerging logistics job roles

The centre integrates real-world simulations with domain-led training across logistics, supply chain, transportation, and warehousing. This approach helps improve the employability of Telangana’s youth. It also opens aspirational pathways for freshers as well as working professionals.

Scaling a proven model nationally

The first COLTE in Chennai demonstrated strong impact; high engagement, improved job readiness, and deeper industry alignment. Building on this momentum, the Hyderabad centre represents the next step in expanding a scalable, tech-led skilling model across India.

More centres are planned across other states, making this model truly scalable nationwide. This expansion will help India build a stronger logistics talent pipeline and address the growing need for skilled professionals. With the sector entering a high-growth phase, COLTE is shaping aspirational careers, preparing future-ready talent, and enabling India to stay competitive in a changing global supply chain.
