Experts in the media and entertainment industry predict a substantial growth rate of 14–16% for the AVGC sector in India over the next decade. The government recognizes the sector’s potential to generate employment for over 20 lakh people in the next ten years. In line with this vision, various state governments, such as Tamil Nadu and Karnataka, are formulating policies to support the growth of the AVGC industry. The Karnataka government has already released a draft biotechnology and AVGC-XR policy, emphasizing the sector’s strategic importance.

Job Opportunities and Skills

Currently providing 1.85 million direct jobs and an additional 30,000 indirect jobs, the AVGC industry is expected to create another 20 lakh jobs by 2030.
