Shri Vishwakarma Skill University (SVSU) hosted a groundbreaking event on ‘Accelerating Transformation in Technical and Skill Education through Research’ on June 14, 2024. This unique event, conducted in Hindi, featured project presentations from young researchers enrolled in B.Voc, M.Voc, and other technical programs. This event was organized by SVSU and coordinated by Prof. Randhir Singh Rathore, Dean Academic, SVSU, under the leadership of Dr. Raj Nehru, Vice Chancellor, SVSU.
Fostering a Research Mindset
The event aimed to cultivate a research mindset among students in vocational and technical education. This focus on research emphasized skills such as curiosity, inquiry, observation, reflection, analysis, and innovation. Prof. Randhir Singh Rathore and his team spearheaded this initiative to challenge stereotypes and inspire young minds. The choice of Hindi as the medium was to ensure that language did not become a barrier for individuals to express their views and share their perspectives.

The event also included representation projects conducted by students from Nepal and Afghanistan. This first-of-its-kind research event involved project presentations from young researchers while they are pursuing their UG and PG programs in vocational and skill education.
The clarity, focus, and dedication of the students were evident in their well-conceptualized projects. In total, 87 research projects were received, with many discussed in small groups during the event. The four broad areas of research included:
