By providing training in professional management skills, the National Skill Development Corporation (NSDC), a strategic implementation and knowledge partner for the Skill India Mission, working under the Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship (MSDE), Government of India, and the Institute of Rural Management Anand (IRMA), have partnered up on August 2nd,2022 to nurture the rapid growth of start-up companies, particularly in rural India’s underprivileged communities.
In Anand, Gujarat, Ved Mani Tiwari, Chief Operating Officer and Acting CEO, NSDC, and Dr. Umakant Dash, Director, IRMA, signed the Memorandum of Understanding. Through joint initiatives, events, and thought leadership sessions, among other things, the relationship will also be heavily focused on knowledge sharing for technological trends, industry trends, and more. Through this partnership, NSDC and IRMA will combine their networking and technical expertise to carry out collaborative research on a plethora of topics.
Shri Ved Mani Tiwari, COO and Officiating CEO, NSDC, said, “In order to help entrepreneurs improve their capabilities and skills and help them adapt to the fast-changing competitive environment, we as NSDC has partnered with IRMA, a top educational and research organisation, in order to help India, become the Skill Capital of the World. Dr. Umakant Dash, Director, IRMA, stated, “We are pleased to work with NSDC because it will allow us to play a significant role in assisting the underprivileged in becoming successful business owners by providing them with professional management skills and with the help of innovations in entrepreneurship and skill development, we hope to continuously and significantly contribute to the transformation of rural India.”

The goal of IRMA is to develop management professionals who can apply their management skills at the grassroots level and shape public policy narratives at the national and international levels to promote sustainable, ecologically friendly, and equitable growth.
